jwillis35
I was there tonight. It happens at the end of Boston's show. It's part of the new ending. Honestly though, it's done a little differently, and if Boston jacked it from BK, then BK jacked it from the Cadets 2005 show. The next time someone marches a company front or a box drill, who should we credit? Remember, all the great jazz artists borrow licks and ideas from each other (this has been the case since the birth of jazz). It's not considered stealing, it is considered a tip of the cap and often it's a great way to regenerate ideas in new ways.
MetalTones2012
I am not familiar enough to comment or validate the alleged Boston vs BK heist. What I am surprised by though is that no one has even noticed or commented that the Cadets completely heisted the This Is My Rifle sequence from the Cavaliers only with skinny shiny flashy poles this year. WTF? 1.) That was last year. It's different when two corps perform the same drill set/choreography at the same time. That bit is fair game now. 2.) The Cadets do it completely different from The Cavaliers. Go watch it again.
Drum Corps Nation
Am I crazy, our did anyone else see boston jack drill from bk for their ending? I'm at the Massilon, OH show, and I can't believe my eyes. Please tell me I'm going crazy and corps wait at least a year to steal drill moves. Boofisbones Both corps do the same "move", but A) This is a move that the Cadets have been using for years B) It's very unlikely that the Boston drill writer is even aware that the same move is in BKs show this year C) the drill move completely fits the music that accompanies it in Boston's show, I might have written the same thing myself if I were writing the drill.

A) Marc Sylvester(Sully) wrote for the Cadets many years. This drill was done by The Cadet's in 2005, "The Zone" so it has his signature all over it. B) This year Marc Sylvester wrote for the Blue Knights, he used a drill Cadets have used before, but he wrote it, hardly high-jacking when you use your own creation. He was with the 27th Lancers which BK's show is being compared to. C) This drill is done by BK about about 3 minutes into their show and has been a part of their show, not just added, it's the waterfall set, then pinwheels to a big arch. Just an observation. Vanguard07
I think everyone is missing the real question - Who did the Cadets steal it from? What poor high school was watching the 2005 dvds, awestruck that the Cadets were using their move that they stole from a DCA corps who probably stole it from someone else. DCP WILL get to the bottom of this, rest assured - heads will roll!

Who is this mysterious Marc Sullivan guy? PS: You mean Marc Sylvester.

I really don't think he looks for his material from high schools or DCA corps. Google Marc Sylvester, I think you'll understand more about his drill writing/ and career.
