yep,.............kinda like gang rules,........if you fly the colors (uniform, corps jacket, etc) you represent the corps,................hence the reason our board refers to our corps jackets as "gang jackets",...........

Hey... don't forget I've seen you guyz in the hotel back parking lot after dark.

That was after you were told you couldn't "relax" in the hotels front parking lot.

That was the night Chris C told me I had a drinking problem because my hands were empty.

Two pages of response that have little to do with the actual review.

Was I just redirected to RAMD?

Great to see Minn.Brass and the Governaries both win ,shows you don't have to be from the northeast to win in DCA .Congrads to both corps on a great show.

Sorry I simply reject this idea that Kilties are any more guilty of hating criticism than anyone else. I have been on DCP since 02 before I joined the Kilties and for a long while I spent entirely too much time here. Kilties like everyone else occasionally piped in to register comments. And the usual suspects immediately start lighting their hair on fire. Its complete bs. Then someone always joins in with the completely unsubstantiated anecdote about this kiltie or that kiltie doing something which upset someones sensibility which they heard about from some friend at a show but didnt actually see themself.

I think it's because of the bad feelings remaining from prior to 2000. I think the first few years of Kilties Sr they were alot like Kilties Jr. Basically bad a*s*ses who didnt care who they ###### off. The DCA establishment here holds a grudge like a Serbian, they never let it go. So every comment from someone from our corps is met with the same overreaction. I watched seasons go by with this corps or that corps refighting battles from 20 years ago about some perceived slight. Let someone from Kilties opine and people (usually the aforementioned) lose their minds.

If someone chooses to like Kilties less because of my comments someone who is not marching nor is a representative of the corps, well that is pretty effing silly but so be it.

wow. DCA holds grudges Dan? Do you have proof Mickey, God rest his soul, or Gil said "hey judges...the Kilties were ######## pre-2000, so hold their scores down? Please tell me you aren't going there, because if you are, wow.

What's worse Dan is, by making that accusation, and posting such a passionate response of your old team, you are doing more harm than good to feeding people's perceptions, correct or not, of your old corps. more the accusation than the passionate response.

As someone in the stands at every prelims from 2002 on, I can tell you there was no conpsiracy to hold the Kilties down. Show design and performance took care of that for them

As one of those folks who often said negative things about DCA, their system, their politics, etc..I see SO many similarities to things with the Kilties and those things MBI, Steel City, and Brass Factory and others have endured during attempts to gain acceptance and parity with the 'upper eschelon'..

Whether or not the opinions my friend Dan posts are true (trust me - those feelings go back a LOT farther than many of you may think) or if Jeff's stance on the other side of the fence is more reasonable, everyone has to realize that because of the information age - anything anyone wants to say about anybody is free for the doing!

Sorry that our friends from Wisconsin have been a BIT more derogatory than some others, but I suspect that many of those comments are based on REAL emotions, as well as a bit of 'looking out' instead of 'looking in'. Folks also need to realize that in order to make those PERCEPTIONS change, the corps themselves need to examine their goals, and communicate to membership the level at which they will need to commit to...time, finances, work ethic, etc. in order to achieve that..or not..

Look to the "left coast" gang...Anyone else see the adaptation with the folks in BLACK?

Those changes ARE coming, mark my words..

Look how long Brass fought for that 'respect'..I'm sure the road would have been longer and harder had social networking been availabvle in the late 70's and into the 80's....

It's a GROUP effort, some good folks will stay for the fight, others will hang it up..But, that fight needs to fought within the group...making finals this year is the first step to a brighter future for my brothers in plaid..

Just don't be like those guys who showed up with the attitude that the world (DCA) needs to move over because you're coming, be the guys that make the next step their own..and they WILL move over..

Midwest rant over, now. Sorry to waste bandwidth..I needed to say this..

Pat
