steelchops
Pardon if this is a repeat, but with Madison's ESOM, which I believe goes down as a classic, what would your top 10 all time closers be? Let's see 'em!
DrillmanSop06
I love Phantom's 2006 and 2003 closers!

wvu80
27th Lancer's "Danny Boy"...everyone else competes for 2nd best! I see your Danny Boy, and I raise you Malaguena. The version of Scouts 1988 masterpiece might be the only time I can think of where a corps won a championship on the basis of one song. Fans stood and cheered like crazy the last 90 seconds to the point you couldn't hear the corps. I know that has happened at finals with other closers, but that used to happen with Scouts '88 during the regular season. Besides, Wikipedia lists Malaguena as a "drum corps standard." It doesn't do that with "Danny Boy." "Originally the sixth movement of the Suite Andalucia by Ernesto Lecuona, who also provided it with Spanish lyrics, the song "Malagueña" has since become a popular, jazz, marching band, and drum corps standard and has been provided with lyrics in several languages." Whoa, easy there, guys. the thread is what is/are your favorite closer(s), not my favorite is better than your favorite My $.02: SCV's '84 "Promise of Living" and '87 "Great Gate of Kiev." Also enjoyed '84 Garfield's "West Side Story/Quintet" and (though admittedly biased) Dutch Boy '88 "My Way." Peace, Fred O.
84BDsop
In no particular order 87 SCV 85 Suncoast 03 Regiment 11 Regiment 07 Crown 84 SCV 84 BD (actually, this is more the New York Fantasy tag ending we played in various versions from 80-84) 84 Madison 90 Star 90 BD
Piper
I don't always agree with MikeD, but I have to go with him on this one. 27's Danny Boy was bloody awesome. I particularly liked the 76' version. The crescendo would knock me off my feet, and there was no just blowing noise into the crowd. It was more like BOOM!-end of statement! To this day it's one of my shower songs.
