Mello Dude
Well if anyone here with better references than Paul does and can make the case, I'm all ears, otherwise it's simply bashing Dynasty.
flammaster
I personally think the Dynasty tenors are the best on the market. Pearl makes the best sounding snares so far as I can tell. have yet to hear Tama though.

corps8294
There are just some corps that you associate with certain equipment. SCV=Pearl. And, yes, BD has done great things with Pearl; but I still associate them with Yamaha. And, I also know there was a time when SCV used Premier, etc; but they've used Pearl for so long that it has become part of their sound and identity, in my opinion.
flammaster
25 years with Pearl is a record isn't it?
perc2100
Well if anyone here with better references than Paul does and can make the case, I'm all ears, otherwise it's simply bashing Dynasty. Or it's just other's voicing their dissenting opinion/experiences...
perc2100
As a drummer, and this is silly I know, my issue with their snares is aesthetic. Without lugs that run the length of the shell, the snares always end up looking kind of dumpy to me. Mike I feel the same way (aesthetically the snares look "goofy"/dumpy). Personally I think it looks more like Dynasty tried too hard to make their drums look different from the drums that were on top in the marketplace when they first came out. But like other aspects of their designs, they look borrowed from another company (in this case, I always thought they looked like a bulkier/dumpier version of the Remo Legato snares). InspaDave
25 years with Pearl is a record isn't it? That was Pearl's longest running endorsement, but Madison has been with Yamaha for 27 years.
flammaster
Y'know it wasn't until this announcement that I realized that SCV had been with pearl for so long. Madison for 27 years? Yamaha fits so well with them.
InspaDave
If I remember correctly Madison was the first big name corps to go with Yamaha.
