Jeff Ream
Which I don't get because they will perform before that date. It's their first appearance ever at the beanpot. there makes it seem a little more up to snuff
MikeD
I hope so Mike, the known quantity here is the YEA nameplate and staff. But.... none of that is worth any points on the sheets and the folks on the field sound like they will be pretty much newbies. That's why thoughts of staff or anyone else saying "we expect you to...." before they hit the first show sound like a nightmare waiting to happen. Those are just not the type of words you will hear from any of the staff...and that applies to Cadets...er...1 as well. They are very realistic, and the goal is always to focus on the members doing the best performance they can, without any placement expectations. We here have built this press release into something far removed from what it really is.

GUARDLING
How many other new corps have there been in the past several years? Have we all made a big stink when Tampa Bay Thunder, Alliance, and other new corps in the past 12 years started and came out? C2 is great for DCA and great for drum corps. I hope none of their members pay any mind to what is being said about their corps and George Hopkins. Why are they being raked around the dirt since last year? I hope they do very well and hope they beat several corps. Of course then will come the conspiracy experts after finals. Come On! Give them a break, they've endured this BS all winter long. Lets welcome them to DCA and be supportive of their efforts! you really don't know this answer?

Having been to C1 rehearsals on several occasions, scores are rarely mentioned unless as a possible motivation tool. Which did lead to a great Hop line back in 98: "if you run that tonight like that, I can guarantee you your score will be lower than it was in May....and we didn't get scores in May"

camel lips
well, if I remember the rules correctly, all first year non member corps should go on first yes First all season long??? That hardly seems fair.
irishbugle
First all season long??? That hardly seems fair. In comparison, is it fair to the corps that have paid their dues to have a new corps perform after them?? I would say no but that's just my opinion. Kamarag
In comparison, is it fair to the corps that have paid their dues to have a new corps perform after them?? I would say no but that's just my opinion. The irony was George complaining about it on FB, yet he didn't seem to have a problem with Teal Sound going on first at every show in 2010, the corps' first as a World Class corps. It seems to me that some things that go with the territory should just be expected. And let's face it, they can just set the numbers all year. JimF-LowBari
In comparison, is it fair to the corps that have paid their dues to have a new corps perform after them?? I would say no but that's just my opinion. Or fair to the previous new corps that have had to put up with it too. Yeah kinda sucks but comes with the territory and you might be able to watch most of the corps performances . s/ Guy who lead off a lot of DCA shows 75-76..... some in 77.... Edit: See that John beat me to the "territory" similie.. Edited May 16, 2012 by JimF-LowBari
