Ok; taken by itself this wins (or maybe loses?!) as least visually appealing of any drum corps uniform I've seen yet. Just...wow

Fits the show, tho.

Kinda reminds me of Dream's 04 guard unis, actually.

I thought the Mandarins were getting new uniforms. Same ones from the last few years last night. Did I miss something?

They look like cadets at West Point there...

Funny you should say that.....along with portraying the gray despair which begins their show, these uniforms also serve as an homage to the uniforms that BAC wore in 1959, purchased from West Point with the help of Sen. John F Kennedy just prior to him becoming President.

Good eye. :smile:/>

They are still being made and fitted. From what I've been told, they'll be ready in a few weeks. Probably by the time they start heading out to the Midwest

Ding ding, we have a winner! :)

From Boston's website:

"The grey jackets that the corps are wearing this season are inspired by the West Point Cadet uniforms that then Senator John F. Kennedy helped the corps acquire in 1959. As the Crusaders evolved from the Most Precious Blood Crusaders into the Hyde Park Crusaders and then into the Boston Crusaders, with those changes came uniform and management changes. Following two years of performing in red and black, in 1959, the newly christened Boston Crusaders found themselves without uniforms for the season. John F. Kennedy stepped in and helped the corps purchase West Point uniforms directly from the United States Military Academy for the rumored price of $1 each. The corps wore various versions of this uniform that season until the standard red and black was reintroduced in 1960."
