BRASSO
I like the Troopers show, but if the singer is singing out of tune and is flat ( particularly in the lower range ), I would imagine the judge(s) would take that out of tune singing into consideration.... similar, I would imagine, as if a brass soloist was playing out of tune, and flat in their brass instrument solo. But who knows. Troopers put on an inspired performance here today nonetheless, imo.
Cappybara
If one rates against a criterion or rubric there shouldn't be any need to "manage numbers". Except DCI judging doesn't work like that. A corps will be put in a neighborhood called a "box" and from there, they will be compared to corps around them in order to generate their specific score which is where the numbers management comes in.

lastknight
Right as soon as they move anything 8 to 5 or larger they lose a lot of sound quality. And maybe because I can't see a defined technique... But #### they do sound great at a standstill. Cavies found a way around that. Don't move when you play anything demanding.
