Not sure if I have ever sat through an entire run of theirs. I don't know why but I lose interest in their show quickly. My thoughts exactly, with an emphasis on the "I don't know why." They are amazingly talented, and every piece seems to be in place. But for some reason the parts don't seem to add up to a whole that speaks to me. It's probably just a personal thing. I'd like someone who likes the show to explain precisely where the originality is. saxfreq1128 Posted July 26, 2015 Share Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) The show is incredibly flat. The ballad is corny and ineffective.No, it's just not pushy. The Cadets' ballad this year isn't telling us how to feel or using obvious emotional cues that make everything emotionally transparent. I don't need every corps to do that, but I love the Cadets' choice, especially for a Shostakovich show.
