MikeRapp
Only having seen them live once so far, the only things I'm disappointed in for the Cadets as of now is that some of the "characters" don't really do much. The violinist and the "thinker" in the front don't really add anything because they have maybe 30 seconds of action in the program. Hopefully some more layers will be added in as the season goes on. I feel like this is going to be one of those seasons where the Cadets seem destined to fall out of medal contention, and then peak right at the end. Definitely looking forward to see how it develops the next month. The ceiling is always so high for the Cadets because of the sheer talent and experience of their corps. This show in the hands of a lesser group would be a disaster, but no one can make a show evolve like George and his crew. They just have such a long way to go, because the other elite corps are charging forward as well. You look at how "ready" Crown and Coats were for their first show, and it's a pretty shocking contrast. Crown and Coats are polishing, and BD is doing their inevitable slow but steady build to the Finals. SCV has maybe the "best" show they've put on the field in five years, maybe more; I won't be surprised if they beat BD in a couple of their shows. These four are loaded for bear. Cavaliers looks more than ready to make a run (though they may not have the firepower that Cadets have for the long haul.) If Knights had their crap together right now, you could be talking about the fight for sixth. Or even seventh. This does not appear to be the year to be playing catch-up.

Cadets have 2 weeks max to make significant changes otherwise they'll never get it cleaned up in time.
2000Cadet
They have started out sloppy before. What was the year they had those trick flag poles (one flag would role into the pole while another deployed out of the pole). I want to say 2007 but now I'm not sure. Anyway, they started out sloppy that year. This isn't anything new for Cadets. You are correct, it was 2007....and the end of that show took them a while to get that #### clean, but they got it clean enough to contend. 2 very true statements! 2 very true statements indeed, except the aforementioned corps haven't had their entire visual staff gutted. From what I watched of their show last night, they seem to be on the right track. Cadets have rarely ever been pristine the first week of the season...even in 2000 when we went undefeated, we were a complete sh#tshow the first show....and the entire show wasn't even complete! Give it time.
20XXMM
Why is the Cadets show being received so negatively this season? Just a thought.

BlueStainGlass
Why is the Cadets show being received so negatively this season? Just a thought. Its DCP. I love the music and love the drill. Concept is eh but I feel like its a result of changing titles and so on.
Tobias
Scores.☝🏻️This.. Worse Cadets early season in a long time. A great corps knows how to listen to critiques and make great changes. (Think Cavies 2010). Edited June 27, 2016 by Tobias
Shempy
Why is the Cadets show being received so negatively this season? Just a thought. Underwhelming first week. Plus the corps they're in a dogfight with seem to be way ahead of them polish-wise. This definitely isn't the first season there's been doom and gloom from critics this early for them, though. All scores were higher than they are this year. This year, the season started June 23rd.
