B-Flat
I just watched the posted clip. The staff and members have done an amazing job of turning this show around with the rewrites. I'm think they deserve an award for best re-write of the year and I can honestly see this show starting to catch up to the current top 3. I really like SCV's show music this year, but I think it will be hard for them to beat the Cadets as they are on fire! Job well done! I do agree, it's a matter of a few more "tweaks" and really working hard to get as clean as possible soon. Sections of the show are reading very well right now - some work on certain segments may push the program to the next level The brass and percussion are wonderful and the guard is improving very quickly - bodes well. There's a big gap between Cadets right now and the top 3 - but hard work can at least get them close, which would be a very successful outcome in what is virtually a "rebuilding season" for Cadets in many ways

xandandl
'nuff said; draw your own conclusions. Those who are exceptionally generous during our Beat the Heat Campaign will also receive very special, exclusive buckles, shakos and uniforms worn on Finals night by The 2016 Cadets. Supporters who give $200 will receive a buckle engraved with the name of the Cadet who wore it, while color guard fans will receive an actual flag from the performance. Those who would like something more substantial from the 2016 season will receive a shako and plume as a gift for their donation of $300, complete with an engraved plaque affixed to the shako. With a $400 donation, color guard fans will receive a costume and flag from the 2016 Awakening production, while the gift for a $500 donation is a complete 2016 Cadets uniform with engraved buckle. And finally, for a gift of $750, supporters will receive the complete package of engraved buckle, shako with plume and plaque, and a complete uniform worn during the 2016 DCI World Championships." jwillis35
Just watched the video of last night. YES!!! Way better. I will give the Cadets credit, they have really put the work in to salvage this show. Putting it bluntly, this thing was a mess at the start of the season. Now it's a real drum corps show with some serious demand, some great visuals and guard work, an impressive music book that is fun to listen to, and it's mostly fun. The theme is coming across better, but I'm still not wild about it. Just feel that particular theme lacks emotional qualities that would pull a crowd into the story line. Short of that, however, I like it. They are not using the ramps up front so I think they can scrap those...at least I hope they do. Well, I guess they are using the French Horns early in the show, but if you ask me I think they should re-stage the horns as well. Regardless of placement it's definitely a show I enjoy now and it is beginning to show off that fabulous Cadets brass and percussion. My fear has been that with all the changes they may not be able to clean the feet which is necessary if you wish to clean music and fine tune balances and phrases. Hope they get to that point. So rumors of an updated uni may point to this style by chance? http://pre12.deviantart.net/7d6d/th/pre/i/2011/317/c/f/dci_xl_throwback_3_1_by_becorps-d4g32gm.jpg
