DCI Spring Training Finale Thread!

It's very early, but right now I find BS's arrangement of "Young and Beautiful" less effective than what the Centerville Jazz Band played a couple years ago.

And the "hey sister soul sister" prerecording needs to be live or cut.

Horn line sounds really solid. Everything after the ballad was pretty underwhelming, design and music wise. I really loved everything before then though for the most part.

Good show Blue Stars.

Ronald Reagan did it 2-3 years ago too.  I liked that one a bit more (even though they used singing).

That voice intro to the closer featuring the opening lines of "Lady Marmalade" made me cringe. Felt really forced. Could use a better quote from the movie.

My son who doesn't do corps walks into the room and says, "That's unfortunate." and walks out shaking his head.

Sound wasn't bad live. Very messy otherwise. Liked actual corps uniforms.

wonder if all that guard stuff might get simplified by August. Complexity that doesn't add much.

Horns sounded very nice in the encore.

Be surprised if they beat the rain.

Glad to see that Stars are using "Kissing You" from the movie Romeo + Juliet as the opener. I've always thought that was a great song and would translate well to the field. Needs more ooompfh.

The intro to the ballad with the type writer is a piece from the move 'Atonement' called Birony's Note. Love the original. Guess it's referencing typing a love letter?

Very accessible theme and show music for Blue Stars this year!

Briony.  I've watched that movie at least ten times.
