my brother marched The Cadets in the early 2000s. I was exposed to DCI/WGI at an early age. Also did HS Marching Band/Indoor Drumline, and turned a lot of the friends I have that are currently marching to the activity

Really???? What year(s) did he march?

Katy is a pretty wealthy city, all things considered. I believe the citizens there voted for it in a school district bond.

If its football in Texas, they will build it. Turn around and lose, or not win a championship, coach pay us back our money :-)

Our mutual friend isn’t marching this year, either.  I miss him.  :43_slight_frown:

Gotta say, I love your signature.

I'm always curious about how people who hadn't march found out about drum corps. I was lucky to have been educated on it by a 16 year old kid (I was 14 years old at the time) so I had time to build my chops to march Cadets. How did you find out about it?

My high school band marched HS band-ified versions of SCV 1989, Crown 2000, and Cadets 1984, so to introduce us to the music and mood we were going for, our director would make us watch the movies associated with each show during band camp (Phantom of the Opera, Mask of Zorro, and West Side Story) as well as the actual drum corps performances by the corps I listed. I was hooked ever since

That's cool! My high school didn't have a marching band; we had a concert band and orchestra. My band director disliked drum corps so one day he embarrassed me in the middle of rehearsal because I was listening to drum corps music while I was sitting on the side looking at my rehearsal notes.
