The OP of that thread even posted a canned response from Dan A after the OP emailed him. If nothing comes out of the September meetings then someone needs to go to someone of influence. IMHO, the corps having the autonomy they traditionally have needs to be limited, Dan A took definitive action once he was made aware of the situation at Pioneer. All stakeholders (DCI Board, Executive Directors/Corps Directors of all corps) were advised what steps were taken to insure the health and safety of the Pioneer members and all corps members during the season. At the appropriate time the Pioneer saga will be told. Member health and safety was the number one issue during the 2018 season and by all accounts it improved tremendously throughout the activity. DCI or Dan A can;t come on a public forum to defend themselves. Let them do their job. Problems we seem to face every season. Mentioned the overall success all the corps had this season following the new and old rules. Overall a good puff piece indicating there is still work to be done.

Good bit generic but looks like something that got passed to the lawyers first and for good reason Edited August 17, 2018 by JimF-LowBari

But a public statement is necessary before things get out of hand...and its starting to get out of hand, especially when these stories are being corroborated. Furthermore, this never should have even happened.

Other than the sexual harassment policy and contact thru outside agency what improved? Just remember to improve a lot might mean it wasn’t that great before. Setting up a policy can be easy compared to making sure all the parties follow it. Just getting this nagging feeling DCI has someone who won’t follow and isn’t sure what to do about it Edited August 17, 2018 by JimF-LowBari

DCI should be taking out its own trash instead of others having to bring things to light. Cadets too out the trash and were very transparent in the process. DCI is covering up information that is plain site for most everyone to see. They are acting very much like the old YEA board before the were forced out. The wall of silence has already cracked and when the reporters release the stories DCI and the impacted corps are going to wish they had been proactive in dealing with these issues instead of hiding and stonewalling. The piper will be coming for payment soon enough.
