Jake W.
Ok. Nice job, Southwind. Nowhere near as clean as I was hoping for and some lonnnnng phrases in the closer where they noticeably ran out of gas. BUT BUT BUT. One aspect I don't think I noticed during OC Prelims & Finals was just how AMBITIOUS that show is, in every aspect!!!! They are marching some breakneck drill, and there's mountains of choreography, not to mention the brass demand is miles above any group that performed before them. The drumlins seems to play nonstop, and the drum book itself is deeply layered. The bottom line: it seemed a bit much to chew for the corps, even today. But I'm floored now looking at this show as a whole that this young restart of a corps attempted this and generally pulled it off. I might even venture to say they have the meatiest OC show outside of Spartans! Then to compound it all they tackled this super challenging show on a short/half tour. Color me massively impressed. This was a supremely ambitious undertaking of a design, Southwind! I love the challenge they gave the corps this year!!!!
