I find it very unique how this case is YEA that owes him this. Did he wait to file this until after the split between YEA and the Cadet's.? There is no direct mention that Cadet's owe him this. He is suing YEA and their prior Board. If anything this will impact US Bands as they are still part of YEA

Have the victims sued Hopkins in civil court? I have not seen that, but they certainly may have. Not sure how that shakes out legally, and in which jurisdictions they, whoever "they" is in this context, would sue in.

Also meant to quote the comment above by fastnds:

But are these his former board members named in the lawsuit that were "said to be" complacent in covering up his "alleged" misdeeds or were these newer BOE members.  (I probably need to go back and review all events since 2018.).

 Chutzpah.

Definitely not the best "PR" move.  But "par for the course" for a well-known narcissist.

If he wins, maybe he's planning to donate to "DCI" or from "YEA" to "The Cadets"?

Ultimately, it should go to his victims.

If (1) he is convicted in the Criminal case & (2) he wins the compensation lawsuit, & (3) there is actually money paid to him from YEA/Cadets , I think there will be a very strong basis for his victims to sue.

Impacting this will be (1) if he gets any money re compensation lawsuit (you can't get blood from a turnip), & (2) how much is left after attorney fees.

YEA was the "parent" organization at the time.

The Cadets were one component  of YEA.

So,I would think his contract/agreement, or whatever he had, was with YEA .

Part of me (the cynical part) wonders if this is a "If I'm going down, I'm gonna take the entire organization down with me!" ploy

Gotterdammerung.... (spelling!)....

IOW when I go I’m leaving a big stinking hole behind me....
