July 2nd - Drums Across the Desert ... Tempe, Arizona

Call me old fashioned- but this BD show needs more fluidity.  It’s very choppy/segmented

Came here late -- the center of the field shows some really sharp shadows. Distracting on multicam.

Overall not bad BD, but the Trumpets struggle a bit in the upper register, rightfully so.  Also hearing trumpet intonation issues in a few spots.

I am hearing more than just trumpet intonation issues

God, I love Moon RIver. Such a beautiful song.

Some of that is probably quarantine related. Holes will be an issue all summer.

Hopefully they go away after these first few weeks of the season. Would hate to see holes in some of these shows at finals.

A very very off night for BD if this was a major regional they would probably finish fourth at best…

Yikes Trumpets.  This is turning into a very rough run for them.

Yes the one thing. Their design aesthetic seem so formulaic. I simply do not like it.

Say whatever you want about the design, but every member of that corps is talented as hell ... at marching and playing.
