17 before performances or 17 BETWEEN performances. 🤷🏻

Sorry. I believe between performances.

Looks like the other 5 proposals either got withdrawn, voted down,  or didn't even make it out of the instructors' caucus.

I for one am glad the proposal to make the first week of the season essentially judged exhibitions failed.  This is a competitive activity after all.

Shouldn’t it be 17 minutes including performances? That is, the corps has 8-13 minutes to perform, and the remainder of the seventeen minutes for set-up / tear down?

This can't be, lol. The 17 must be the total time allowed for each corps. Thus, if a corps wants to spend 9 minutes setup and tear down, and 8 minutes playing a show, they can. If a corps wants to play for 8 minutes, but their setup/teardown only takes 3 minutes, then the audience will have to wait 6 minutes until the next corps' 17-minute slot starts. This way, the schedule will stand as it always has. The only change is the max/min judged portion of the show. (right?)

That’s correct, it’s 17 min between shows so if a corps has a 7:00 time, the next corps time will start at 7:17 and so on…in theory anyways

Not surprised of the results at all, it’s almost always the same year after year. What a lot of us think as a good change or a common sense change is usually always struck down because of some hinderance to the “creative process”

Oh well, on to the next season…
