I heard a couple weeks ago that it was Crown’s decision but I can’t say first hand what really happened.

Carolina's staff has been updated. Rick Subel and Tony Lemon are no longer listed in the creative team. We wish them well!

I know Crown reads this forum so I bet that the website was updated because people said something in here.

It's weird that the artistic director/program coordinator would change, but all other designers remain the same. Wouldn't the theory be for the "idea guy" to bring aboard their own people?

I mentioned before that Subel's shows were never my cup of tea, but it's interesting that the most comprehensive design was his last imo (to whatever extent it was *his* design). I thought they skated by on talent for a couple of his shows with weak concepts (e.g., 2017, 2019), but I wouldn't say that about 2023.

Joe Roach named Executive Director at Crown.

As Executive Director, Roach will lead Carolina Crown’s business and program development. He will continue to head the drum corps program as Corps Director.

Rick Subel  ‘s name has been removed  on their website . But Tony Lymon is still on the Crown website  tonight as still being on the Crown  DesignTeam , but that’s not accurate as far as I know  . He officially resigned his position a few weeks ago , and has been hired by the Blue Knights as Artistic Director there a few days ago .

Jim Williams out at Carolina Crown . He was hired earlier this year ( Feb) as CEO at Carolina Crown . Looks like now Joe Roach will wear 2 hats as Corps Director and take over the responsibility for Business and Programs Development at Crown that Williams was hired 8 months ago to do as one of his responsibilities .  Williams is the Executive Producer of NightBeat , one of the most successful of the DCI shows each season .

One would think so . This will likely all get sorted out there at Crown , but there are some rather unexpected and surprising staff and mgt movements there after their season . On field they had a good season , but now it seems things are a bit unsettled there at the moment .
