Corps That Have Moved and Why?

Recommended Posts

Cadets....felt Allentown was a better fit to make money in each case and to escape past issues.

Crossmen sold off or they would have been shut down

How far does a Corps need to move for it to be considered a move?   Cavaliers moved from Chicago to Park Ridge (suburb) to Rosemont (another suburb).

I think the topic is a "relocation". Cadets moving from NJ to PA is not huge. Crossmen moving from PA to Tx is a relocation. But they are the only ones that have ever done a big cross country relocation. So again is this worth of a discussion because it's not.

Sky Ryders went from KS to TX but forget what’s in History of DC book (book is on dcxmuseum site).

I think Sky Ryders and Southwind (twice) count as significant relocations.

Two Texas corps also deserve honorable mention.  Genesis moved from along the Rio Grande to San Antonio, then to Austin.  Guardians have triangulated between the San Antonio, Houston and DFW areas.

A lot of corps moved out to the suburbs back then.  Norwood moved to Skokie.  Vanguard moved from Logan Square to Des Plaines.
