VHornBoy
I have to be honest. When I first saw the scores my heart dropped. As a past member of SCV and marching the years that everybody called the "DARK YEARS" of SCV (93-95) I always told myself it's not about winning! Just go out and perform the best show possible. I just listend to the APD fearing the worst! BOY was I wrong. This show sounds great and I can't wait to see them live via Movie on quarterfinals night since I'm stuck in California. The only thing I can say to all you SCV supporters write the corps and tell them you enjoy the show. Theres nothing like a fan letter in support of your show even when we were in 7th in 1993. Forever SCV. MC

You don't have to be a member, it will cost you a buck more though. b**bs 2. Download it to your CPU, then I would suggest burning it to a CD so you can listen to it via a more powerful system. :) Yep, I do believe ADP is an alarm system, so beings that you will downloading an APD, you should be fine. :P Edited July 25, 2005 by Blue Devil Legend
PeeWee
Thanks for starting this thread! ^OO^ I agree, as I have since March when I first heard them live, their music is extremely powerful. I knew even back then that it would come down to their visual program this year. That's all I'll say about that. :sshh:
chris ncsu
I agree, the APD sounds very, very good. I dig it. EXCEPT...the end of RCM doesn't feel like an ending. I'm fine with RCM as the closer, but it needs more of an ending.
festive
A standout part for me is the opening...just gorgeous stuff, then BAM!
geluf
In my opinion, SCV is placing about where they should be. Yes, the music is powerfull stuff, but it isn't without flaws. I've seen the show 4 times now, the latest being in San An. The Brass score is accurate, IMO. The hornline is putting a lot of power and emotion in it for sure, but I heard several intonation issues and stick outs and a few places where I could hear feet in the sound. After 4 viewings of a show, you just start to look for other things by default. The visual program is very, very dirty and pretty uninspiring. Overall show design is lacking (hence the bad GE scores) and even the gaurd isn't doing anything worth mentioning. I don't want to put a downer on everything. I just thought it was worth mentioning that there isn't some massive conspiracy to put SCV in 9th place. They're earning it all by themselves. I do love the show, but they just aren't performing at the level of the corps above them. I think if they can clean up they could go as high as 7th, but the corps in the top 6 right now seem to be pretty much untouchable. Just as a disclaimer: I am a giant SCV fan. Kimberly
Ditto what Geluf said. The show is blah this year. I don't get a sense of power, majesty, either musically or visually. I didn't recognize RCM, and what they did play was not closer music. It was pretty, but it never went anywhere.
chris ncsu
I didn't recognize RCM <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's almost the 1987 version.
