Ok, by request. Same rules apply: all shows are performed (hypothetically) on the same night on the same field. Do NOT rank them according to your favorite, be objective as you can.......

List rank, score, captions, and a summary if you wish.

(all the summaries and observations have been awesome !)

Have fun, here goes............oh, and the twist ??

Its all....

The Blue Devils !

Who beats who !!

1. 1988 Blue Devils (3rd)

2. 1994 Blue Devils (1st)

3. 1982 Blue Devils (1st)

4. 2006 Blue Devils (3rd)

5. 2005 Blue Devils (4th)

6. 2004 Blue Devils (2nd)

7. 2003 Blue Devils (1st)

8. 1999 Blue Devils (1st)

10. 1996 Blue Devils (1st)

11. 1995 Blue Devils (3rd)

12. 1986 Blue Devils (1st)

This is a one of a kind, the next list goes back to "normal"

Holy Cow, this lineup is amazing. G, you are trying to kill me with this, although you forgot two of my favorite BD corps, 1979 and 1984. But there is plenty of greatness here so here is my initial reaction to this lineup and how I would rank them at first glance.

1. BD 1988 - I give them the nod at first glance. To me this was the best of BD. They had it all and should have won. This is one of best brass lines ever, the show featured some of the best soloists ever, it was one of the cleanest shows ever, one of the best performed shows ever, one of the best musical books, and the drumline, guard, and visual GE wasn't exactly bad. This brass line would have won high brass last year at the 2006 finals.

2. BD 1994 - the best BD of the modern era

3. BD 1986 - amazing brass and drums. Maybe their best drumline

4. BD 1997 - perhaps their most artistic show, and clean

5. BD 2003 - super clean show with rock solid technique in all captions

6. BD 1999 - should have won the title outright

7. BD 2004 - one of their better horn lines, and the arrangement of "A Train" was amazing

8. BD 1996 - The gangster show was tons of fun, but they lost some steam come the end of the season.

9. BD 1995 - Excellent brass and drums, guard was dark and mysterious, but this should would lack in GE compared to those in front of it

10. BD 1982 - One of my favorite musical books. Talk about great charts!!!!

11. BD 2006 - Loved it. Godfather was a great book that I think people are going to like more and more as the years pass.

12. BD 2005 - I loved the last 3 minutes of this show, but the first part was just not very exciting, not for the Blue Crew.

Ok, so that is my initial reaction to these years. I will grade the captions of each corps and update this post with how the captions break down.

After watching them all again...

98.15 1996 Blue Devils (GE brass; brass)

98.00 1986 Blue Devils (visual; 2nd in brass by .15)

97.75 1999 Blue Devils (GE visual; guard)

97.60 1997 Blue Devils (percussion)

96.50 1988 Blue Devils

96.30 1994 Blue Devils

96.00 2003 Blue Devils

95.50 1982 Blue Devils

94.45 1995 Blue Devils

92.10 2006 Blue Devils

91.75 2005 Blue Devils

91.00 2004 Blue Devils

This is a particularly interesting lineup; forced me to watch lots of BD, not something I usually do. I'm sure I'm going to get some flames for 2004 BD in 12th, but I stick by it.
