I can't believe that drill was written without the aid of a computer, or that horn book was played on only 2 valves. I can't believe that drill was written without the aid of a computer, or that horn book was played on only 2 valves. More impressive that teh cross/cross drill came directly out of Zingali's head! I think the story is that he taught it on the fly. As for the 2 valve horns...all you have to do is pick a key that minimizes the need for 3rd valve notes (mostly in the low brass) and creatively write around those that are left...
