  1. The reason they wanted to use a female voice in the second number is because it is a different timbre, the original is Imogen Heap. Why not use the source material to give great emotion and sonority? String Instruments, again in the ballad are a way to bring a different emotion and sound to the piece. BTW: the tuba solo is full of electronic call and response with the tubas. A lot of A and B there. Go Blooooooo
  2. I don't think so. I think Bluecoats will be on top of most if not all of the music captions. In the end, the visual spreads will tighten, putting the Bluecoats on top.
  3. The Bluecoats said themselves that Metropolis - The Future is Now is about the future of the Bluecoats. It's a introspective into what the future holds for them.
  4. 1. Cavaliers 2. Blue Devils 3. Bluecoats 4. Cadets 5. Carolina Crown 6. Phantom Regiment 7. Santa Clara Vanguard 8. Boston Crusaders 9. Blue Stars 10. Blue Knights 11. Glassmen 12. Madison Scouts
  5. The Bluecoats drum solo in the closer is truly a sight to see. So many singles!
  6. Some corps just don't believe in it. They would rather teach that the whole is the sum of the parts. To each their own, I applaud corps that let their kids do I&E and those that don't.
  7. 1. Bucs 2. Minnesota Brass 3. Alliance 4. Hurcs 5. Empire Oh, and I still haven't seen a front as good as Bucs yet. I don't think they get enough credit.
  8. Crown changed their ending, and the Bluecoats have made changes too. Usually this makes scores become a little stagnant until cleaner...
  9. a great idea by Crown. They entertained, nobody got hurt. Who cares...
  10. Most corps are using what is common in the indoor percussion setups you usually see today... You may see a mix of some or all of the following: Synthesizers Electronic drum set MalletKat and or other trigger setups Samplers Mixing boards to control the levels Microphones to amplify and distribute the sound evenly (important) Laptops to control sampling/audio levels
  11. You would still get the intended benefit. Not to mention if someone liked your review, they could tell you in a PM. So I don't really get what you're saying.
  12. If anything, maybe the review threads should be closed to replies. Start threads for certain shows, then have the reviewers submit their reviews in one post back to back. If you want to start your own thread about what you thought about a show, fine, no specific replies. Seems easy enough to me, plus if you have a beef, take it up in PM. They're easy to delete...what do you guys think?
  13. To kind of explain the Cavaliers show a little more, it's more about what you hear and see not matching each other. Making the audience member go mad as well.
  14. Trust me I saw it. Baked potatoes everywhere, not to mention trays melted to the floor.
  15. It's mylar, but it's not the sound you are used to. They are using 14X9 piccolo snares, along with Falam II Snare side heads with the Powerstrokes. When the entire corps plays, they tend to get lost in the sound. The drum solo with the mylar is cool though.
  16. Are you really going to judge on early June clips? Everyone is dirty, not to mention you're looking at a video online, not to mention that book probably won't be there in a month, not to mention I'm pretty sure all three lines will be in the top 5. LOL.
  17. They announced tonight at the dress rehearsal that the Cavaliers will have another food truck by tomorrow night. So no worries!
