I feel like I've seen quite a lot, actually.

Someone tried that on Phantom last year but she wasn't that well disguised.

So if I hear their show described as 'beyond sucking' this year I will know not to take it the wrong way.

In my day we catapulted a sketch artist into the air with a large rubber band...

I may have a need to borrow this on occasion. -

This tantrum has sadly become ubiquitous enough to earn its own name. I christen thee: Purple Rage. -

Oh Woe is Me - Blue Knights
skevinp replied to noblegaijin's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
This thread is neither exciting to me nor one of the best 6 threads I have read this year. In accordance with the OP's value system, I therefore deem it a failure and will move on to read more successful threads. -

For a long time i could never really get into their shows, but I have really enjoyed the last few years. I wish people worried less about placement. Inherently there can only be x 'top x' shows, but theoretically there can be as many entertaining shows as there are corps. I like those odds better. I have listened to BK 2013 many times because I like the show. I have long since forgotten what place they came in. -

Comical Moments During a Show
skevinp replied to msumello's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Cadets cow in 1996. No matter how good you are you can't take yourselves too seriously. I really wish there was a top 12 or at least top 17 clown prince corps today. There are so many iconic shows and styles that would be great material for satire. A Phantom style show where nobody is alive by the end. A BD style show where the field is so strewn with white PVC that no one can move. A less romantic answer to the 'do you love me John?' question. The possibilities are endless. Or even with a nod to satirical days of yore. Phantom guard girl defeats the evil queen by becoming a shark and eating her. -

Why no individual performer superstars?

Call me a mushy pollyanna, but I think they are ALL superstars. -

Dirtiest championship corps since 1990
skevinp replied to Madisonscoutsfan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
2011 Cadets. Half the corps was off for most of the show. Came in at the wrong time. Couldn't lay their instruments in a straight line. Didn't even wear the correct uniforms. -

.True, but they provided outstanding abacus support. -

It didn't kill them, it just made them talk funny. -

Yes. And if a winning corps had more dirt in some area it likely just means they were that much stronger in the others in order to score high enough to win. -

On the subject of age appropriateness and the Kama Sutra, positions should probably come with ratings that impart the age at which they become too difficult to perform. Say what you will about controversy, but the mildly controversial nature of this thread caused me to hang around long enough to learn a little about Winter Guard.
