  1. THANK YOU so much for the awesome photos! I believe you are the first photographer to capture the boy's new chevron tattoo. Congrats!
  2. Thanks for getting my kid in this picture! He's in the front ensemble on the right at the bass drum & gong.
  3. Update - - Racine Scouts will not appear.
  4. I said it last season - - I'd pay extra if fan Network would add a "Hoppy Cam" feature !!!
  5. I'm most excited for the shows where my son (Phantom Regiment) and my daughter (Legends) will both be performing! With Phantom on the West Coast last year, they only had 2 shows together - Minneapolis and then Prelims in Indy. I'll be on the road with Legends for a while and will be able to catch a lot of shows that way. Belvidere Cinema Kalamazoo Pittsburgh Salem Whitewater ??? Michigan City ??? Metamora (Our home show - - both kids marching at their home high school. Total of 3 kids from this little high school marching with 3 different corps!) Muscatine Dubuque Minneapolis DeKalb St. Louis Spring Valley Then Open Class prelims / finals in Michigan City and World Class prelims / semis / finals in Indy. Son is aging out this year. :(
  6. Legends 2012 - - the first tolling of the bell. Beautifully filmed by the camera crew at OC finals - - check it out on Fan Network.
  7. Any and every retreat. All. Those. Kids. Making Music.
  8. 1989 SCV Music of the Night push. Every. Every. Time. 2011 Madison closer (at quarterfinals) - - amazing moment. Loved the guard moves in 1990 Cavies ballad "All Things Bright and Beautiful" - - as the opening solo ended, they were in groups of 3 exchanging a rifle, flag and saber, but the move was accomplished with such gentleness and fluidity - - simply exquisite. Because of my theatre background, I really loved the ending of Sky Ryders 1987 West Side Story show - - visually simple but effective. I echo the other posters who have mentioned Phantom's 2010 Into the Light show - - I didn't know the music but the way that show was constructed and performed told me everything I needed to know. That show communicated directly to the hearts of so many. I remember watching them begin to disappear into the tunnel at the end of the show, and i began to cry and panic thinking that those kids were going to leave the field before they heard me clap for them!
  9. Legends is looking for a few baris! http://legendspaa.org/
  10. The rest of my order arrived today. Just gotta say - - the camera work on my daughter's show (Legends) is amazing. If you knew the kid in closeup at the end - - what a terrific young man. Brought tears to my eyes.
  11. Bouncing off the walls here - - (This is, of course, dependent upon my son and daughter completing successful auditions with their same corps) BOTH of my kids will be marching at the SAME show AT OUR HOME HIGH SCHOOL. Ok - - proud mama here juuuuuuuust a little excited. :thumbup:/>
  12. My DVD arrived yesterday. My daughter and I pulled into the driveway, squealed when we saw the package on the front step, and raced each other to get to it. I texted my son to tell him it was here, and he actually thought I would wait for him to get home for Thanksgiving and let him open the package. Ummm... right. I ordered a bunch more that hasn't arrived yet, but I changed my order on them. The DCI Store staff was really helpful in making the changes.
  13. The worst part for me is that on Monday I go back to teaching middle school. Suffice it to say that my students are a far cry from the drum corps kids I've been hanging around all summer, who are the most dedicated, hardest working, most considerate, polite kids on the planet. Reality bites.
  14. Open Class VODs, anyone? The prelim performances from Thursday were available for a short time, but now there's nothing.
  15. Loved the following quote from the PR banquet - - "It isn't about winning. It's about WORLD DOMINATION!"
  16. Legends is featured on the front page of this morning's Michigan City newspaper - - great show last night! The kids performed at the top of their game and left everything on the field.
  17. Our Legends kids were noting the irony of having 3 shows rained out during the year of such drought.
  18. I think I'd pay more for my Fan Network subscription if it came with an option for "Hoppy Cam" - - a single camera devoted to following George Hopkins as he paces the sidelines. Funniest thing I've seen in a long time. On another Fan Network note - - what are the chances of shooting the pit from the right side every once in a while? The pit cam seems to be stationed on the audience left side of the pit, and if the pit cam were to shoot from the right, my kid might actually get in the picture when PR plays.
  19. I think I'm gonna need a tranquilizer.
  20. Welcome to anyone who is coming to the show! If you're hungry, please sample our world-famous pork chops. Now back to baking cookies for the Regiment!
