  1. I assume the times listed are local Pacific time? Gonna be a late night waiting for the scores to come out! posted from the DrumScorps app
  2. Hi again...as you can see I'm a very long time member (10 years ago!?) but life got in the way and kind of ignored Drum Corps for a long time. But...happy to see this place is still rocking so though I'd start it back up!
  3. Congrats, Regiment! I only got to see your show in the theater, despite you playing less than 3 miles from my house in June at DCI Normal. I can't believe that you did it and your organization has deserved this for a LOOOOONG time. I got the pleasure this morning of breaking the news to 89 alum, "Smiley" and his reaction was, "You're kidding me. Quit pulling my leg....THEY WON?!" and then lets of yelling. :D Congrats to all who have worn the Phantom Regiment uniform and helped in any way. I'm beyond jealous, and despite being 29 years old, kick my self every summer that I didn't audition for Regiment.
  4. I'll be in Peoria, IL. I called there yesterday to see if they had sold out yet as I didn't buy a ticket a head of time. "No, and I think you'll be able to get a ticket. We've sold about 25 tickets out of 220 seats." Ouch. At least I'll be able to lounge while I watch!
  5. Very true, I've been thinking this for years. But at least they are FINALLY coming back to the BOA show here in Normal. I can walk to that show!
  6. Yes, because Wisconsin plays Illinois State all the time.
  7. From what I hear, the finances are coming along quite nicely. ISU's long term goal is to move up from the FCS (I-AA football) to FBS (I-A football) and to do that, Hancock Stadium needs updating. It needs it anyway, but this is the driving force. The new AD is really focusing on getting football upgraded in order to move into a bigger conference. But yeah, those sketches will come in phases and I believe the visitor side stands will be worked on first, which hopefully won't interfere with the show. I couldn't get over to the stadium, hopefully all of you enjoyed your visit to Bloomington/Normal!
  8. I remember on the 96 video when the announcer said, "In second place.........which is actually a tie for 1st place..." and the Regiment staff exploded. It looked like some of them were actually shot out of a cannon they jumped so high.
  9. 1993, first DCI recording I ever heard was a friend of mine that was trying to get into PR. He played me the 1993 DCI Finals TAPE and it was the most amazing thing I had heard. PR Phan since!
  10. Here's the link: http://goredbirds.cstv.com/ot/renaissance.html They are PDF's, but click on the links on the left that say Hancock Stadium. I might have been off on my numbers a bit by the looks of things.
  11. They money is not yet raised to upgrade Hancock, but they are working on it. It will be two phased. First phase is to upgrade the East side (non press box side) so that there are real bleachers there. Right now there is just wood ones. That will add about 10k in seating. Next phase is to close the stadium into a bowl with seating around the south side and an upper bowl. That will add about 14k more. ISU is looking long term to make the jump from I-AA in football to I-A.
  12. There are some good bands at the Rockford show, but it's by no means stacked. Harlem High School, Machesney Park, Ill. Grant Community High School, Fox Lake, Ill. Nequa Valley High School, Naperville, Ill. Naperville Central High School, Naperville, Ill. United Township High School, East Moline, Ill. Lincoln-Way East High Shool, Frankfort, Ill. Whitewater High School, Whitewater, Wis. Rochelle Township High School, Rochelle, Ill. Elmwood Park High School, Elmwood Park, Ill. Niles West High School, Niles, Ill. Huntley High School, Huntley, Ill. Metamora Township High School, Metamora, Ill. McHenry High School, McHenry, Ill. Davenport Central High School, Davenport, Iowa Herscher High School, Herscher, Ill. Prairie Ridge High School, Crystal lake, Ill. Elk Grove Village High School, Elk Grove Village, Ill. NIU Huskie Marching Band, Dekalb, Ill. Naperville, Lincoln-Way, United Township and Herscher are probably the top four bands that will be there. All of them are yearly finalists at the State of Illinois Marching Championships at ISU in October.
  13. As a big time Phantom Phan, big thank you to Pat for taking Regiment where they are today. It was your leadership that got them there. Also for being personable over the few times I emailed you. You were very busy, but answered my emails quickly. Kudos to you and Greg Newell for that. Good luck, Pat!
  14. Well, if DCI doesn't have money, there isn't a DCI which means "the kids" have no where to march any way. It's not like DCI or any other corps is rolling in money. They have to make as much money as possible to support themselves. This is another way. The DVD's are another way. If you start showing the full show free on TV, they lose a MAJOR revenue stream of the DVD's/CD's. No one complains when they don't show an entire Chicago Symphony concert on TV. It's all edited down. What's the difference?
  15. TSAR, very well written, and even though I never marched for any one in Drum Corps, PR will always be the ones I cheer for. I've had many friends and teachers who have marched there. So, if I may borrow the same feelings that you had watching them this year, I would appreciate it. I thought 2003 was fantastic, but that was nothing compared to this year. Bravo, Regiment. I think there were thousands of people there on Saturday night who think of you as winners.
  16. Someone have a picture of the Phantom that was over the tunnel?
  17. You bring people out of their seats, Regiment. Thank you.
  18. I assume they moved it. They didn't have it this year (I think it was in Atlanta instead?).
  19. Even though I'm not a Regiment alum, I've had many friends and teachers who are alums, and so I cheer for them the most. Thank you Regiment for playing to our emotions so much. It is always a joy to watch and listen to you and thank you for playing Elsa's, even if it was away from the crowd. I got goosebumps hearing it. As much as I want Regiment to win in 07, I want to be there when it happens so you can wait till Indy in 08 if you want!!! :D
