  1. Thank Goodness, Bless you.. You'd think it was Free Agent Day in the NFL around here.
  2. I don't know Paul personally, but I certainly know of him having competed against those 70's Cavalier drum lines. We all knew your name. 🙂Our snares even warmed up before shows a couple of times together just to jam. Of course, our 3 snares didn't add much to your 6-8, but it was fun nonetheless to hang out and play. Former MMs from our small corps who went on to the Cavaliers spoke very highly of him and do to this day, his dedication to the corps and the activity itself. Obviously, those tales were true as his long resume' after his marching days would indicate. Chris, also. Congratulations on that career, Paul, both professionally and your tenure with the corps. Your credibility is top drawer with me and anyone ever connected in any way with the Cavaliers. Thanks for chiming in.
  3. Have your drummers spayed or neutered. Rest easy, Bob.
  4. Ok, one more smarta** joke for the day and I gotta get home.
  5. Geesh, getting testy around here with no drum corps. I'm thinking about changing my DCP name to TheOneWhoDontKnowDiddlySheet just to stay out of trouble.
  6. Ain't that the truth. If the Ayatollah was half as accommodating, I'd be a much happier camper. "WTF are you watching? THAT? Again? What about the lawn??" "Relax, honey bunch, I'll get to it right after Finals night. (or a week after that or so)"
  7. An old pastime was after a bar closed, hanging around the parking lot before heading to Denny's to chow down and singing drum corps tunes. About 8 of us tried to do the Bottle Dance one night. That was a major fail. So glad that was way before cell phone video was around.
  8. That's the way I always assumed it worked, at least I'd hope so. Outstanding leadership throughout the season. Anyone can be flashy, entertaining, charismatic and noticeable on a single night (or three nights).
  9. Sutasaurus made it on to a t-shirt? Do I go to sustasaurus.com to get one?
  10. Absolutely. At least entertain us. You can set the world on fire once you've re-won some hearts and minds.
  11. Ahh ok, gotcha. I misunderstood. That may have been around the time where MMDL.com dropped the videos altogether. Maybe BSG's guy who knows a guy who knows a guy can help. Good luck.
  12. Did you go to this page specifically? https://marchingmusicdownloads.com/download/?_sft_download_category=2017
  13. I think I've matured enough as a dino fan to now accept live animals on the field. Troop - you managed to lasso the sun. Get after dem wild broncos out there on the 50 yard line.
  14. Various individual contributors and their stories/history. https://www.dci.org/dci-hall-of-fame-overview
  15. I recall specifically either giving away or eating my theatre tickets last year in lieu of watching prelims on Flo, probably for many of the same reasons Cappy laid out, plus I wasn't about to watch the former show design woman who closely resembles the wife of a disgraced televangelist who shall remain nameless since I got in trouble for using that reference before, spew her stuff.
  16. I was in a show in '71 with our dinky, stinky corps and the Cavaliers. That was it. Two other corps had bus trouble and didn't show. They won by 40 pts, but we won the hearts of the crowd.
  17. So they left room to bring Clara back to ensure the 3-peat. Very smart.
  18. Been out of touch on all things BD and without going through all these posts, did they ever get their 5th tenor replaced and in shows?
  19. At that rate, I don't know, but at least the battle of the BD Haters vs Homers will finally be over or close to it.
  20. I see Surf as sort of the Academy of the east. Always enjoyable, entertaining and the kids just look like they're having a blast performing, similar to Music City.. More power to 'em.
  21. Excellent work, KVG. I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself so much.
