They need to release pictures or hints or something ... there's not much time between Premiere and first Allentown to get my son's replica uniform top done. 😃

It looks sharp, I like it. I also like that you can easily find the BoD _AND_ there are email addresses to reach everyone. It was such a chore to dig up contact information before (with some DCP help and a lot of Google-Fu) not that it did much good. There are now published policies and links to the compliance hotline. This is awesome - I know there will be tweaks, but it looks fresh.

Pioneer's DCI Membership Has Been Revoked

Seems like, if they took that attitude last August and made real, substantial changes, they would not be in this position. -
From email: We are thrilled to announce that in 2019 we will be celebrating the 85th Anniversary of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps along with 50 Years of Women in The Cadets. As part of our celebration, we are happy to announce we will be organizing the 85th Anniversary Alumni Corps to perform this summer. We are also proud to announce alumnus Joe Reichert will be the Corps Director for the Alumni Corps. Joe is currently the Head Band Director for the Adamson High School Band in the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, TX. He marched in the 1992 and 1993 Cadets, and was a Drum Major in 1995, serving on the Cadets instructional staff in 1997 and 1998. Anyone interested in working on the planning committee for the Alumni Corps should contact Joe at jreichert@yea.org by November 16th. Further information regarding the Alumni Corps will be released in December with registration opening in January. There will be additional ways we will celebrate this very special year ahead, so watch for us to announce more information for Cadets family and fans. Most Sincerely, Vicki Ferrence Ray Executive Director Youth Education in the Arts

A Message from DCI CEO Dan Acheson
rmm155 replied to Hrothgar15's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
That would be the current unknown. People who have been in the activity for decades probably have their list of probable guesses. I have never marched, followed in the late 80s based on seeing a few PBS shows, and started attending shows again in 2011. Only in the past 3-4 years have I delved into this forum and others. Having said that, even I can put together a shorter mental list of probable guesses - if not people, corps. So, it's again, it's mostly speculation at this point of who/what/when. -
A Message from DCI CEO Dan Acheson
rmm155 replied to Hrothgar15's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I think this is "a" story from Tricia, not "THE" story that Dan A was foreshadowing. Mainly, because this is still GH specific and not multiple people over multiple corps. Plus, usually, there's the sentence of "we contacted so and so from DCI and they declined to comment on the story" included, and that wasn't mentioned. Though, none of this story is particularly surprising. -
Would DCA wish to accept a corps that's on DCI suspension (or with that amount of stigma) ?

Music City Cadets Cavaliers Blue Devils Spirit Crossmen

Nope, it resolved for me.

It started last year, I think.

Was in Allentown last night, and the crowd response was amazing. I got to watch their ensemble earlier in the day, and then seeing the show at night ... most excellent day. May their momentum continue.

It may be a totally different prop, but it definitely brings a "been there done that" aspect to the show. The spinning compass is neat, though -

No sir, I was just posting The Cadets' FB page. If I were filming, I would attempt not pan so fast as it makes my eyes cringe. =) But, I'm grateful that it's posted at all. -

They fixed the site quick, but I was super confused for a bit. Great scoring and slowly closing the gap to Bloo, and working on taking individual captions.
-
I see it this way - attendance yesterday was a few things: Price, low number of top corps and the heat. I know a few people who didn't want to go due to the fact that it was "just Bloo and Cadets". Obviously, the other corps were enjoyable, but if this ticket is essentially the same price as a night of DCI East, that's a bit much. Overall, YEA! could do a better job integrating with the Allentown area (if it were to stay, which I know is not what a lot of people want, but it is what it is). There are tons of excellent band programs around here and reaching out into the community could foster that relationship and boost attendance with parents. I'm not sure how much 'face time' the Cadets get in Allentown anymore, I know 5 or 6 years ago, they did to some community events in Allentown, but that seems to have fallen off the radar.

Cut out most of the vocals, leave the "I think therefore I am" for a tie in and lose half the props as it seems so cluttered. It's not one of my favorites this year, for a change. -

Update from the Philadelphia Inquirer
rmm155 replied to Terri Schehr's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I think that is a very poorly formed sentence. But, I would also believe that the reporter has more corps out there that are affected. It may be just the process of getting validation and lining up facts. Quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if reporters are perusing these sites for leads, so they should have information on paths to follow just by offhand comments that may or may not be deleted. -
New pic on FB ... that's really cool looking

Eventually, when it's finally public and the teasing commentary is passed. =)
