With Soundsport being filled with less experienced performers and less rehersal time, why is DCI giving them "extra" material to learn. This just makes no sense... Z

And I'm guessing that since Pioneer did not perform at San Antonio that they were locked into performing first. That meant the first group of 3 was Cascades, Crest, and Surf. Z

It was a more engaged audience and DCI had more money than they knew what to do with. If they were smart, DCI would eliminate the shows in Texas next year and add tons of outdoor shows in New England (choose whichever definition of New England you prefer). I think DCI is batting about .750 over the past couple of years, and the few misses were mostly out of their control (copyright issues) although some of their communication could have been better. You think DCI did everything better in 1982. I think we are going to have to agree to disagree. Regardless of attendance numbers, the corps are super talented, and young people appear to be having a great time...and that is something to be happy about. Z

People seem to fall into one of 3 categories... 1. DCI is dying 2. DCI is fine 3. DCI is growing It is apparent what category you are in and what category I am in. I've spent the past 22 years either on tour or attending many shows. Its harder to get a ticket to a major show today than it was 5-10 years ago. All I know is I wanted to get 2 tickets to finals in July last year and the only seats were in the end zone. DCI will never have as many folks attending finals as Montreal...Olympic Stadium simply has more seating capacity than Lucas Oil Stadium. Z

I'm confused by this statement. You do realize DCI is setting attendance records at every major stop on the tour. Record attendance at San Antonio, Atlanta, and Indy over the past 12 months. DCI is not having a problem attracting fans. Z

Using an iPad and the app in the Las Vegas airport and the stream has been perfect! Didn't expect that.... Z

I am having the EXACT same issue. In a hotel in Indy and the app crashes every time I try to start the video. Z

I was not distracted by the moving of the props on my first live viewing on Monday. I'm interested to see if they are distracting as I get more familiar with the show. On a first read I was looking all over the place trying to take things in. By the time I see the show 7,8, and 9 times I will be attempting to see how they make everything work. If things still seem seamless on multiple viewings...that's when you know you have championship level design. Z

I'm excited that drumcorps is back. Be it 7 minutes, 11 minutes, or 2 minutes. To me, 6 or 7 minutes of Blue Knights is better than 0 minutes of Blue Knights. It sounds like a small minority of people would prefer Blue Knights not to compete until DATR if they don't have 10 minutes of a show on the field. I want any corps to do what they need to do to have the best possible show on the field at finals. If that means coming out with 75% of a show...that's fine by me. All the complaining makes me want to buy a BK shirt when I get to Indy. I choose to support Blue Knights being the Blue Knights. One of the things I enjoy about BK IS they look and sound different than most groups. If they also put their show on differently, that's okay by me. Z

I honestly think DCI does not realize that their podcast is not a podcast. The issue began with the introduction of the "new" dci.org website. Since June 2015 my preferred podcast app (Downcast) will pull up the Field Pass podcast but show no episodes available. It's a shame that Dan Potter is creating excellent content that almost no one is listening to. Z

Spirit 1991. I wore out this show on my audio cassette tapes. I thought they sounded like a finalist corps. Only heard the show, never saw it. Maybe they moved horribly??? Z

I would agree with those names, but I think there are two to try to fit in there....Brubaker and Sacktig. You could slide Brubaker between Zingali and Rosander and change the 00's to Gaines/Sacktig.Z

2015 CD's. More importantly, a pillow made out of a Vanguard uniform. I already have finals tickets for 2016, so that was not an option. All in all...a pretty awesome Christmas. Z

The podcasts not showing up has to be a result of the switch to the new website. That is when the podcasts stopped showing up. The sad thing is, I don't think DCI has any idea that the field pass is unavailable as a podcast download. Dan Potter was doing a lot of work that almost nobody has heard. I know I can listen on the DCI site, but that won't help me when I'm on the move at work. Z

It seems like a lot of folks want to reverse engineer the judging "problem". People look at how things shook out then figure out what change would make Crown the champion. If Crown wins title #2, I imagine there would be nearly no complaining about judging. This is the equivalent of me wanting to change the rules of baseball, because my beloved Cincinnati Reds are having a down year. I understand that the Reds need to do things differently. I'm not arguing that the team with the hardest throwing relief pitcher be given wins. That's not how baseball works. I really, really, really liked Crown this year. If they would have won, I would have been cool with that. They didn't win, and BD won. I'm cool with that too. There is nothing wrong with the system. It works. Lets put our brainpower together to fix the copyright issues. That's something worth trying to get sorted out. Z

Do you think we can go out on a limb and say more people will watch drumcorps live in 2015 than any year in history? Between huge crowds at regionals and local shows plus DCI Live and theater attendance, we are talking huge numbers. I know finals attendance was huge in the 80's, but I have NEVER had a problem getting a seat for finals. If you go on ticketmaster right now it's shocking to see the seats that are sold. People can yell all they want, but I think it's safe to say that drumcorps is alive and well in 2015. Folks constantly say how DCI is doing an awful job, while they just keep churning along selling out events. Z

If you want the two percussion judges to have the same scores and Ordinals, it begs the question....why have two judges. Two humans looking at different places on the field may have differing opinions of where groups should place. And that is ok. Z
