Pioneer Has 2 Brass Holes
morganhill replied to brlucmo's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
This coming from a "world class" unit? In other words, if you can walk and chew gum at the same time, you're in?! Jeeze! No wonder they rate so low at quarters. -
Would you really leave the activity
morganhill replied to Elmo Blatch's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Adding the dreaded woodwinds to the activity would be the equivalent of placing the final nails in the coffin. No way, no how, NEVER!! If it ever came to adding woodwinds I would never again attend another "drum corps" show. Not even if it was across the street and they paid me to attend! Also, I am sick and tired of these so called "music educators" pushing such an absurdity on the activity. They obviously have no conception of what the activity once was, nor do they seem to care. If nothing else, at least preserve some of it's dignity and drop this notion of woodwinds once and for all. -
Very interesting. Thanks!

Holy Name!... HOLY C#@P!
morganhill replied to Newseditor44's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Let me guess, the original poster is a rookie member of the Cadets? It certainly sounds that way. Talk about being biased! And downright silly. -
IMHO, as well as SCV is doing competitively, it's just not the same without Gail's influence and music. He is greatly missed.

Are giving predictions rude?
morganhill replied to luvs me sum mello!'s topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Question was; are giving predictions rude? Answer is, IMHO, rude no but silly and premature yes. Especially if it's pre season!! Predictions based on what? Rumor and innuendo? -
The Kingsmen move back to Anaheim! The mailing address for the Kingsmen Starcorps Inc. has been relocated from the Torrance address to our new Anaheim address which is: Kingsmen Starcorps, Inc. 2255 W. Ball Rd. P.O. Box 2665 Anaheim, California 92814 Thought this was kind of interesting. To me they will always be from Anaheim.

How does one start a drum and bugle corps?
morganhill replied to ajlemm's topic in DCI Open Class Corps Discussions
IMO, before you do anything, have your head examined! Starting a "drum corps" considering the nation's economic situation this would probably be a complete failure and a major financial disaster. It's just not worth the effort or the financial investment! -
If we go we will probably attend the showing at the Spectrum in Irvine, CA. Thats a big IF right now.

To Parade or Not To Parade...
morganhill replied to silvertrombone's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
the You are absolutely correct. Parades not only provide much needed additional income, it's also a perfect way to show case your corps to thousands of locals. And don't forget the newspaper and TV coverage most corps get by appearing in a parade. Look at parades as a necessary evil and do your part. -
Yawn. This is nothing more then hype and innuendo. Tell us more come June.
