Scerpella
One of my favorite nicknames was for the Seneca Optimists, "Bananaheim" for their duplicates of Kingsmen uniforms except in yellow. Funny thing is years later I was talking to a guy who marched during that time period and he had no clue other corps referred to them thusly. Bridgemen of course were just called the "Bananas". I suspect most of the funnier nicknames we had for our competitors would not be viewed with much good humor here!

Pioneersop98
At Pioneer we won several "Best Band" trophies in the July 4th parades we marched in, so we started calling ourselves "The Shamrock Band". Shane

wturner901
I hear the Bluecoats simply referred to as "Bloo" sometimes. I like it. Who calls the Cadets the "Maroon Team"? I've always heard "Holy Name"...

jonnyboy
Maroon Team dates back a few years....I never heard Holy Name until the 09 name change. Heck, I still think of them as Garfield! Maroon Team dates back to at least 1994 when a FMM was on our staff, he used it often.
jamesjones0611
The Blue Devils' tuba section is "The Line". Crown's tuba section recently has been nicknamed "Sweet 16" Oh, my favorite joke off a composer's name? Brohannes Jahms.
liebot
Somewhat related: I feel like most drum corps fans call Blue Devils "BD," but most of the people that I know that actually marched the corps don't refer to it as BD that often, and usually call it "Devs." Also, I talked to a staff member over the summer that marched Cavaliers, and he told me that he HATED when people called the corps "Cavies," and insisted that it should be "Cavs" instead. Don't know how prevalent either of those are. Could just be the individuals I talked to, but it was interesting to see them both hating the name that the drum corps community commonly uses for them.
