  1. 1. What corps would you say was the best that DCA has offered since its inception?

Yes. Not going to get into a peeing match with you, but go back and look at their shows through the years. They did a lot of things that no one in DCA had done before. (But many since)

My statements were merely as a reply to the "they've only been around since 1983" argument.

Just food for thought. As I said, not trying to argue AGAINST the Cabs. Their record speaks for themselves.

it's a great point. but, just because of sheer longevity, Cabs have to be #1

ok not for anything but cru had a female guard from 1947-1959. sorry.

Don,

*excuse me while I put my foot on my mouth for getting involved* :worthy:

Sun's All female Guard (1969) was the 1st in DCA....

1st Mallet instrument in DCA (also 1969) was carried on the field by Sun's Cliff Diable...

1st Female in a DCA Horn line was Sun's Judy Foster

1st Female Soloist in DCA was Carol Ann Fallon (1976)

Don't really see much ground breaking innovations that have come from Empire. Enlighten me and name one perhaps.

LOL, first use of amped bass guitar, Uncle Sam on stilts, tanks and bubble machines.....

Not kidding, saw them all in the 80s when ES was starting out.

And let's not forget the "Curley Shuffle"..... :worthy:

Hey gotta stick up for a former ICA corps, not many left.... Edit: Just checked srcorps and see four ICA corps still competing (ES, Cru, MBI and Bushwackers).

So Uncle Sam on stilts, tanks, bubble machines and the "Curley Shuffle" is considered pushing the envelope in design and innovation? What's next...an organ grinder with a monkey???

Don't give Hopkins ideas. :worthy: But figure flute-o-phones and bagpipes would come before barrel organs.

Followed by accordians...
