If that's how they perform at parades, that's their personality and I'm fine with it. If it were Cadets doing that, I would not be fine with it, because that's not their personality. That's all this is. Different strokes for different folks. Not the end of the world. WHOA! I didn't think common sense was allowed on DCP?! After seeing the villagers gathering their pitchforks in the thread I was expecting a lot worse. I really don't see what the big deal was.If it were The Cadets in the video I would be angry because I would feel like it was out of character for them and their established identity. I would probably be disappointed if it was SCV too. Crown doesn't have the identity that Cadets and SCV have though, and they are still working on figuring out what their identity is going to be, so I really don't have a huge problem with them relaxing a bit during a parade. I haven't seen the video at all yet, but I did watch them during retreat at Finals in 2008. Each member of their guard was randomly "conducting" with a bright green baton throughout the entire ceremony. At one point the crowd started to do the wave and Crown's guard joined in, pantomiming as though they were directing the wave. Considering that Crown's shows have had a playfulness the last few years, I'd argue that a more casual approach is actually totally in keeping with the corps' identity.
