The Other Mike
Well I FINALLY have some nice thigs to say about 2010. 1) This is the most entertaining top 12 across the board for me ever, 1980 comes in a distant 2nd 2) As someone who "usually" only likes old school, modern school was finally presented in such a GREAT manner, by so many corps, I couldn't help but love it. 3) I have NEVER seen so many shows come as close to perfecting a concept as I have in 2010 4) I have never been so mentally exhausted after a top 12 show as I have been this year ( I'm glad I took my ADHD medicine before the show just so I could keep up) While I enjoyed every one of the top 12, It fightens me that I actually understood and appreciated both BD and Cavies in a manner that I felt had taken a peek inside my mind.......and threw it back in my face? My God what a huge step in show concept. I DO understand why some can't grasp and appreciate them but I can only feel sorry that it seems so far out there for so many. I just wish those people could appreciate it through my eyes and ears. After this year I'm not sure I want to see anything next year. I just can't imagine anything coming close. ( does THAT make sense ? ) What a FANtastic year
liebot
1. Blue Devils - the end of their show was insane. 2. Cavaliers - They're very good at push-ups. At least three of them. 3. Bluecoats - Insane bari solo, great performance, awesome show. 4. Crown - Best show I've seen live ever. 5. Cadets - Herald trumpets are cool. 6. Phantom Regiment - Tunnel intro was sweet. 7. SCV - Awesome drill, best use of dissonant music in DCI since Star 93. 8. Blue Stars - Great hornline, some fun moments. 9. Boston Crusaders - Loved the side-stepping while playing move. 10. Madison - Hey, they're good again! 11. Blue Knights - I... I enjoyed a BK show? Wtf? 12. Glassmen - See BK I didn't see enough of the non-finalists corps to say something nice about them all, but I'm sure they're all very friendly people. thirdcoast
This is a great post, lets rev it up and show all the participants of 2010 that we really do love what they do. TARHEEL SUN moving in the direction of the future, bringing it all year and never backing down. The music you all picked for 2010 is a choice I think would bring more people to the activity. Heavy Metal who'd a thunk it. There is soooo much more music out there that is not used cause the mainstreet people are never listening to it. Thanks for trying music that is diffrent than most Corps, I really liked it. DCI needs Corps to do more of this, find music that is powerful, exciting, full of energy and this is where you go to find it. I sure hope you all keep going down this path cause it sure made me smile. Looking for big things from you all in 2011, thanks for all the hard work in 2010. You all have alot of fans, I am one of them. GO TARHEEL SUN!

Nice back- handed compliment you gave the cavaliers... We get it. You don't like them... What happened? Did they cut you or just beat your corps over and over again.
