oldschool1180
Exposed in 2007 to the activity. Would love to march but I am of the LDS faith, am 18 and planning to go on a mission when I hit 19. I would love to march so much, but I have to save up money for that mission. Its 2 years, and goes from 19 to 21, so I cant march in DCI. However I love the activity more than anything in the world lol Go DCA when your done were always happy to get another dot filled

chasgroh
first year marching: 1988 - best year to start drum corps, ever! never saw it live before that - only on video. ...boy, YOU got your baptism in one of the greatest years of all! Good for you! cg
XmenRam
My first drum corps experience: 2000 DCI Southwest in the Alamodome, my high school band went, I was about to go into my freshman year of high school. Fell in love there. First marched: 2005 Revolution. One of the guys in my section at college was the drum major, and he invited me to come try out for a camp in February. I wish I had started sooner, I would have had more time in DCI. At some point, wouldn't mind joining a DCA corps.

IllianaLancerContra
Very nice bimodal distribution showing up... just as I would suspect from the regular posters on this board - half newbies, half old f**ts. PS - I am an old f**t
bccadet09
I first heard of DCI in 2003 when my band director (Carolina Crown 97, 98) played DCI from the 90s on VHS. My first show I attended was not until 2006, and my first year marching was 2007.
HeatherM
Well I voted 87 because that's when I first marched, but I remember going to corps shows at MacArthur Stadium in Syracuse when I was pretty little, maybe age 5 or so. My uncle was a drummer in a senior corps ( not sure which one) and many shows in that era had both junior and senior corps. That was 1970.
