Galen
I have a hunch this may not be the only time this show moves. Hopkins and YEA have tried to get shows at big venues in NJ before like Rutgers and the Meadowlands, but have wound up moving them to places like Clifton because of availability issues. INSIDETHEFORTY
Wow! What a move! The fans in the NYC/NJ/Philly area are gonna have one incredible weekend! If the lineups for Friday and Saturday in Allentown aren't great enough, the "best of the best" will be slugging it out one more time in Rutgers Stadium on Sunday before Championships! Each corps will get once last chance to jockey for position prior to Thursday's prelims! In addition, it's an easy Sunday drive from Allentown to Piscataway! G-8 or no G-8, gotta be there! It's the same general audience. Having the show at Annapolis gets different fans.

The Rutgers move is a bit of a surprise for me. I'm not sure a marching event has ever been held at the "new" version of Rutgers Stadium...mostly because of, like you said, availability issues and from what I understand, a reluctance on the part of the university to allow such events. However, there is a first time for everything, I suppose.... and as I've said before, that stadium should be a terrific venue. USSBA had the Demoulin Challenge there in October..it was a prelims/finals event. We marched there when our football team made the state finals a couple of years ago. Clifton can NOT handle a TOC show
IllianaLancerContra
Well, at least we can see the DCA corps within a reasonable distance... Really looking forward to seeing Renegades,Kilties, MBI, as well as the minicorps, and alumni corps. It is a far more 'drum-corpsish' lineup than the TOC
