Define Dark

Recommended Posts

I had a brass instructor that told us he thought a particular brass judge was always in the dark when it came to our brass line.

lol

Here's a link to the 99 Darkest Pieces Of Classical Music. Swan Lake is listed as 8th. We played it in 1976 and came in 8th, go figure! Off topic, I read the news today. It appears I've been reading the wrong horoscope for years. As of today, I'm a Gemini

I mentioned this in the OT forums.

It's an AMAZING value. Many pieces are performed by London...but all are really quite good.

Bring this back for maybe some relief.

I do had a question about "dark ballads". Now, It's sorta late, but I can't really think of any corps off the top of my head that have played "dark ballads"... What do you guys think? I'm talking like full blown minor melody line or something akin to that...

SCV 2000 did Adagio for Strings, Phantom 1995 did Rhapsody for a Theme of Pagannini, those are two that jump to mind. And maybe Phantom 2000, Transfigured Night? Those three jump out at me as being dark
