Props -- who's got 'em?

Troopers on horses--great idea. It could land them in finals, something appropriate for DCI's 40th for one of only four corps who placed in 1972 and still exists today to be in this year's finals. The Trooper drum major is always a class act with his sword, or in days long past, pistol around his waist. The corps could be set up, ready for competition and when the announcer says "Drum major, is your corps ready for competition," the DM rides to the podium. There's are some problems. Transporting the horse across the country for nearly two months might be considered cruelty and PETA will picket shows. Stadiums might not be all that crazy about the idea or the possibility of "Trooper Souvenirs," and I'm talking about horse contributions, not the souvenirs sold by dedicated Trooper moms and dads, being left on the ground. One poster believed it would be great because the Troopers hail from Wyoming. Well the corps may be headquartered in Wyoming, but most Troopers probably hail from states where the only thing people know about horses is that they live on farms and may not be able to distinguish between a horse and a cow.

Live animals in shows does have potential. Phantom could do a show based on the music of Miklos Rozsa and recreate the chariot race from "Ben Hur." Someone else might do Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture and what would a Roman carnival be without an arena filled with hungry animals. The corps that selects this show could feed bad judges and critics to the wild beasts. Someone could do a Star of Indiana tribute and focus on 1987's "Greatest Show on Turf" and have live elephants and real dancing bears. The possibilities are endless!

BD is a fan of "raw PVC" ... the house parts last year, the "horse" bell boy carts/clothes racks (still early of course) ...
