Hook'emCavies
I like what I am reading right now and it looks like this season might be another one to remember! And from what I am reading/hearing, this might be the first Crown show I have liked since 09. Of course, I will have to wait until Monday (hopefully) in the theaters. I have also heard some wonderful things about The Cavaliers! As a fan of them... I am still very proud of the Green Machine! FINALLY!! The season has started!

chaos001
I totally get where your coming from. An I was going to cut them some slack, but then I thought, no one gave scv any slack last year. And it turns out those people were kinda right. Might as well tell it like it is.
pete
I saw them all last week, they practiced at my school. Maybe I should have mentioned that. So seeing that you "saw them all last week" I'm going to assume that means that you aren't marching drum corps which leads to one of a few possible scenarios. 1) You broke your leg jazz running with your "awesome" high school last fall and so you can't march this summer. But it must be an honor to have such an incredible ensemble rehearse on YOUR school's field. 2) You clearly are such a killer musician that you couldn't lower yourself to standards as low as drum corps. Instead, you choose to critique them from the side line 3) Or you simply tried to make the baritone line but just didn't quite make it. Better luck next year?

neonpeanuts
I gotta say thank you for giving us these reviews. I think we're all foaming at the mouth at this point to hear something so I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. I've been to plenty of shows and I know that that's no easy task! I do have to say though that I think your review here regarding Crown might be a little too critical. I think it's far too soon to determine if this show is above these corps members heads, and although the drill may be faster or harder than in years past, who are we say anything about their training and the ability of the staff members? Again, I really do appreciate your insight, I just wanted to get that one little thing off my chest. It sounds like all the corps are bringing some great stuff to the table! Hopefully it will be an epic season! Wait so we should lower our standard for one drum corp and "go easy on them"? We shouldn't pander to a drum corp because they decided to take on hard show. His review was honest and frankly right. Unless all Crown fans think that Carolina Crown should be babyed or something Edited June 17, 2012 by Geoff Inappropriate comment

Um bloo/cavies Surprise-cadets I'm surprised over your prediction of Cavies so high in guard placement. They must have been having a really bad night in the run-through on "that" tube, because the guard was so off in everything in that video. Flags were almost never in synch and their tosses were so off (timing and height) that it ruined the visual impact. The rifles and sabers also must have been off in the run-through since almost every toss had weapons hitting differnt heights. And it wasn't just "early season" because I've seen several others already this season who were far superior. Must have really cleaned up in a few short days.
