I've only seen since '08 live, so for me it has to be 2012 Crown. The power, tone quality, and demand was entirely unmatched by anyone I've seen.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: I'm sorry for the inaccuracies in this poll everyone, I was unaware that they averaged the top brass scores in the '90s. I'm just trying to have a little bit of offseason fun, but do I want it to be as accurate as possible. Below are the problems that have been pointed out so far:

1. 1995 Three way tie: There is a maximum limit of 25 answers per poll question. If I add the two other brass champions from this year, I have to bump off a couple of others.

2. 1991 Star of Indiana / BD: I only read "Brass Field," I missed the "General Brass" section they had on those older score sheets. This one is another tie, so it's the same problem as the first one.

3. 1988 Madison Scouts / BD: I misread the score sheets on this year. BD won outright. However, the Scouts have won so many votes I think the best thing may be to just leave it as is, regardless of the inaccuracy.

So, if anyone has an idea of how to "fix" these errors, please let me know.

1999 loudest to BD

I think you made the right choice to stay within the realm of Corps you've actually heard live. Early decades Corps have little to no shot in these polls as few have heard them live... and we'll all agree I'd imagine that a taped performance is nowhere near the same experience as hearing and seeing a Corps live. That said, Crown's 2012 brassline stacks up well with any Corps that I've ever heard from over the years. So doesn't 2012 Blue Devils as well, imo

Best: Cavies 02

Loudest: BD 99

To the OP, I think BD tied for brass in 1991. Ditto Madison, BD, and Cadets in 1995.

Loudest horn line ?

Tough one, as there has been so many. I'd say '95 Madison Scouts could make your ears bleed pretty well and would be right up there with the best of 'em.

Not that this means anything, but of course this poll is going to be skewed towards the newest shows. satisfied.gif
