Dan Detweiler
CorpsVets and Carolina Gold were scored at DCI Atlanta tonight, receiving 78.9 and 72.0 respectively. Not trying to steal the thread, but gotta say how cool it was to share the field with Gold yesterday. Gets kind of lonely being the only All Age corps represented in the Dome. I hope Gold had as good an experience as we did. Safe travels back home Gold and we'll see you in a couple of weeks in Douglasville! Jeff Ream
DCI judges with DCA sheets. 'nuff said. yes, but some work both places. the sheets are similar enough in many ways. that said...some interesting neighborhoods starting to emerge, and I don't think we've seen the last shifting and sliding yet
mendozaman
Ok, let's see... Scores on left are from my prediction earlier. Ones on right are actual scores. (Was 3 points low, but nailed the spread) 85.1 - Buccaneers - 88.30 84.2 - Minnesota Brass - 87.45 (Pegged this score. Thought they would be closer to top by now. Maybe next month?) 83.2 - Cadets² - 83.90 (Looks like Bush has edge in this one for now.) 75.5 - Long Island Sunrisers - 74.40 75.4 - Bushwackers - 77.40 (Keep on exceeding expectations) 75.0 - White Sabers - 80.00 (Tough to guess 1st showing) 70.9 - Shenandoah Sound - 63.10 Guess stage is set for showdown between Bucs & Minnesota. Who has more primal urge to go higher, faster and stronger at Finals? /> Battle for all of top 6 spots should be pretty epic. Not ready to count anyone out. Think 3rd place may be toughest battle of all. Cabs, Empire, C2, CV have legitimate shots, maybe even higher. So, anyone else excited about a 5 or 6 corps race for top 3 spots this year or what? /> Rank - Latest Score - Date and Location of Latest Score (Change from, and date of previous score) Open Class: 1 - 88.30 - Buccaneers - 7/27 Downington PA (+4.45 7/13) 2 - 87.45 - Minnesota Brass - 7/27 Downington PA (+9.85* 7/1) 3 - 84.50 - Caballeros - 7/20 Lynn MA (+2.55 7/13) 4 - 83.90 - Empire Statesmen - 7/20 Lynn MA (+1.45 7/13) 4 - 83.90 - Cadets² - 7/27 Downington PA (+4.30 7/13) 6 - 78.90* - Atlanta CV - 7/29 Atlanta GA (-0.70 7/13) 7 - 77.45 - Fusion Core - 7/20 Lynn MA (-0.20 7/13) 8 - 77.40 - Bushwackers - 7/27 Downington PA (+5.95 7/13) 9 - 74.40 - Long Island Sunrisers - 7/27 Downington PA (+2.9 7/13) 10- 72.60 - Connecticut Hurricanes - 7/20 Lynn MA (+0.95 7/13) 11- 72.00* - Carolina Gold - 7/29 Atlanta GA (first score) 12- 66.50* - Kilties - 7/5 Whitewater WI (-1.90* 6/30) Class A: 1 - 80.00 - White Sabers - 7/27 Downington PA (+5.50 7/13) 2 - 69.275* - Govenaires - 7/13 Minneapolis MN (-1.125* 7/1) 3 - 67.30* - SoCal Dream*** - 7/14 Bellflower CA (+0.35* 7/13) 4 - 67.20* - Cincinnati Tradition - 6/25 Fairfield OH (+12.00* 6/21) 5 - 66.20 - Windsor Regiment - 7/20 Lynn MA (-1.10 7/13) 7 - 63.10 - Shenandoah Sound - 7/27 Downington PA (first score) 6 - 52.40** - Heartliner - 6/22 Huizen Netherlands (first score) Excelsior (first show 8/3) Sun Devils (first next 8/3) Tampa Bay Thunder (next show 8/3) Centurions (first show 8/4) High Country Brass (first show 8/16) Lakeshoremen (next show 8/16) * DCI show on DCA sheets ** European show and sheets *** SoCal Dream is fielding a competitive show, but will not be making the trip to DCA Championships. Interesting. I think that if Cadets2 repeat last year's scrubbing-bubbles cleaning push, they will sail past both Statesmen and Cabs to grab third. They were underscored in Downingtown, that's for sure. They should have been in the low 85's.
