Best brass soloist of 2013?

Recommended Posts

Despite the majority of his solos are played into a mic, I can vouch that he is one of the more talented Trumpeters in the activity this year, not to put down any of the other players, but he's that good. Wish he was playing for my team! :P But he's creating a wonderful vibe for the Re:Rite of Spring.

That's all the more reason why his quality is amazing...because you can hear EVERYTHING about the solo--nuance, etc. Anyone on DCP (and there are many) who thinks BD is using the soloist mics simply because somehow these top-talent players can't project without them are, frankly, morons. He is easily my favorite soloist this season.

She seems to like to exercise during rehearsal downtime, from my perspective at the Durham practice -- talented AND fit.

Nothing better.

Kudos to Crown our Champion!

By simply reviewing how many times their "poem/narration' is quoted on other posts here on DCP threads, it is easy to acknowledge the excellence and effectiveness of their narrator, even when he wasn't tooting his horn on the field.
