littlejaw
In light of the "Best Openers?" thread, what are some of your favorite Closers in DCI history? As a follower of this activity for just less than a decade and with access to a fan network account, let me know what I need to see that drum corps has offered in the past. tesmusic
Madison's Ice Castles and Memory from Cats. Not to mention their Pirates ending and Empire State of Mind. Let It Be Me by Spirit. When a Man Loves a Woman by BD. I'm a sucker for mostly ballad endings. Oh, and 1997 SCV. Still convinced that show doesn't get the love it should. Lincoln
Oh, and 1997 SCV. Still convinced that show doesn't get the love it should. We agree on something. The build during their closer that year was amazing.
tesmusic
We agree on something. The build during their closer that year was amazing. Definitely didn't get the crowd reaction it deserved. And yes, We agree on something! Luck 'O the Irish?
HockeyDad
So many. So many. You could list one from every corps. SCV - bottle dance. Pick a year Cadets - any year with a Z-pull. 83,84. Star - cross to cross. 91. Madison - 88. Malagueña. Among many others Bluecoats - Autumn Leaves. 88?89?90! Phantom - Elsa's Procession. 79. Or 96. Or 08. Bridgemen -77. Holy crap. Good luck finding it. Troopers - Ghost Riders. 79. Or Battle Hymn. Spirit - Let it be me. 78. 27 - Danny Boy. Various years Cavaliers - Softly as I leave you. 79? Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

HornTeacher
I'll throw a 2nd vote in for 1988 Scout's "Malaguena."
Tim K
My all time favorite is 27th and "Danny Boy" appropriate since today is St. Patrick's day, and honorable mentions include Spirit "Let it Be Me" "Auld Lang Syne" of Kilties, and Guardsmen's "Greensleeves" but in recent years we have had some great closers too: "Elsa's Procession" by Phantom in 2011 (and 79), Colt's "All By Myself" and even the hardest hearted cynic had a tear or two last summer with Madison's "You'll Never Walk Alone."
Cappybara
Disclaimer: Not sure about the best but these are my favorites Phantom Regiment 2008 Phantom Regiment 1979 Phantom Regiment 2003 Phantom Regiment 2006 Phantom Regiment 2011 Phantom Regiment 2012 Phantom Regiment 1989 Madison Scouts 1988 Star of Indiana 1991 Madison Scouts 2011 Blue Devils 1992 Santa Clara Vanguard 1989 (the show overall was much better than 1988 in my opinion..) Santa Clara Vanguard 2009 Boston Crusaders 2013 Cadets 1984 Blue Devils 2011 Boston Crusaders 2000 Cadets 2011 Santa Clara Vanguard 1999 Carolina Crown 2011 Woops that ended up being way longer than expected. I really love Phantom Regiment's recent closers. And 2011 was a really great year in drum corps.
