That patch has always been on the uni.

Woah seriously? I'm not sure how I've never noticed that in person or in pictures.

Just a patch on the shoulder. Hard to see unless you're on top on them (like me)..,

Actually the patch has only been on there since 2009 (75th anniversary).

There's a wing there named after a client of mine. I've been there for an awards banquet and have wandered around the campus. During dinner a string quartet and pianist - all ONU engineering students - serenaded us during dinner.

It's a wonderful school with a beautiful campus less than 50 miles away from the 1960's and '70's hotbed of drum corps in Ohio (Bellefontaine).

Cadets will have a ball in Ohio.

Partially correct.

The patch was on the jacket until the mid-eighties and returned to the uniform in '09 for the 75th. It has been worn as such since.

The reason it was removed in the '80's was 3 fold: a) cost production savings; b) when corps members were facing different directions but looking toward the front sidelines, which was right or left shoulder wasn't an issue; and c) initial moves toward a new umbrella organization and marching band co-op were beginning to formulate; YEA was the later result.

The C2 patch is not the same one as what C1 wears but looks similar from a distance.
