fsubone
SCV - 6th, 5th, 4th, 4th Cav. - 3rd, 8th , 7th, 6th And if we track one more year back, SCV was 7th in 2010 (show design and a really young corps was to blame there). So they've picked up positions for the last 5 years now.

Phantom Regiment and Cavies have done more than their share to help the rise of SCV lately.

It's a great illustration of how placements depend not only on what one corps does in the new season, but also those in its grouping. True but SCV is operating on a new tier the past 2 years regardless of others
Tobias
True but SCV is operating on a new tier the past 2 years regardless of others Agreed but put Cavies in the top 3 where they were for years and 4th becomes 5th. Throw in a strong PR 08, 12 and Crown back to their more consistent top 4 and we can see how SCV could be in a 6th place slot. Be I agree they are improving.

But sure, it's because of someone else that they're doing better now. /s

But the whole picture illustrates that SCV got better through better staffing and design, not because someone else slipped. That seems to imply that SCV moving up the ranks was solely because Cavaliers went through a down period, which completely disregards Santa Clara getting better. You seem to be arguing black and white. SCV is where it is right now because of better design AND taking advantage of the fall of PR and Cavies. Ignoring the impact of 2 corps falling out from under them would be giving SCV too much credit.

Arguing and offended and "looking through homer glasses" are pretty strong words to use for his replies, he's not freaking out about it.....think we need to dial it back a few notches. Just having some discussion. Looking at 2010 - 2012 vs. 2013 and 2014, I'd give a majority of the credit to them improving in pretty much every aspect performance wise AND design wise. I don't think that's giving SCV too much credit in any way. Just simply recognizing that had they not improved as much as they had, they wouldn't be in the position they are now regardless of if other corps dropped or moved any. Corps fall every year, that's a given. It happens, and that did contribute some. I agree to a lesser degree perhaps.
