noahsigs
Thought someone should make a thread for this! 375 East Exchange Street, Akron, Ohio 44304 (which is InfoCision Stadium) Schedule: On June 20th, tomorrow 4:00 P.M.: Box Office Opens 6:00 P.M.: Gates Open 7:30 P.M.: Show Begins Lineup, in Reverse Order (Satan's order, but we're all used to it by now): Bluecoats The Cadets Carolina Crown The Cavaliers Blue Stars Boston Crusaders Troopers I'll be the red-headed ticket taker, hope to see you there! noahsigs
Personally, I think the Bluecoats will be able to overtake The Cadets this show! I could be wrong though... And hopefully Crown sorted out their wardrobe malfunction. Excited to see the Crusaders for the first time, my parents are huge Game of Thrones fans! noahsigs
What happens if it rains? Just... nothing?
IllianaLancerContra
What happens if it rains? Just... nothing? If it rains, so far as Bluecoats are concerned, as Rondo would say 'This place is electric...'
BlueStainGlass
What happens if it rains? Just... nothing?it means I drove over 3 hours for nothing. Good news is the thunderstorm is gone when I look at weather .Com and says just am showers. Was over 50% last night and is now at am showers and 20% at night. N.E. Brigand
What happens if it rains? Just... nothing? It depends. In a light rain, the show might go on. A steadier rain might result in standstill performances. Passing thunderstorms will delay the show. A drenching rain or lingering thunderstorms will result in the show being cancelled. In the last case, shows almost never issue refunds to patrons (because the corps are paid to appear regardless of what the weather does--and the show hosts often can't afford rain insurance), although sometimes they will offer discounts for next year's show.
Cleveland1
No offense, but when did we start making show threads for future shows on a day where there are already other shows? I understand starting threads for today's shows yesterday since yesterday was that awful and boring off day... also i know we are all really excited to start the season and especially if you are going to a show you want to hype it because why not? but yeah, anyway, looks like it will be an entertaining show. I am glad to see Boston performing so early in the season, typically it seems like they wait until the shows move eastwards from the midwest to join up, but its at their own cost since nothing beats competing and learning from the judges as early as possible. Typically Boston's development curve is so far behind the others that I am surprised when they do as well as they do. so, yay for them. The question is, will boston be up towards Cavies or down towards Blue Stars in show #1? As in, will they be pushing to be on disc one or will they stay on disc 2. also this Bloo, Crown, Cadets trio will be exciting to see throughout the season. It will be interesting to see which judges favor the bluecoats show and which tend not to. as much as some complain about judging conspiracies, it is just how it is that some judges rate certain shows higher than others (not necessarily certain corps). Sorry, just I'm just really pumped for this show tomorrow, next time (if I ever do this again) I'll wait until the day of the show. And really good comments, I agree. It depends. Thanks for the info! Hopefully the rain holds off... there's not another show in this area until the 27th, and I don't like waiting haha... Unrelated, is it okay to show up early and watch the corps in the lot? I've never really wanted to do it before, but I thought it would be cool. craiga
For the record, Boston usually begins their season with Midwestern shows in Ohio. And, unlike the Bluecoats, Cavies, Blue Stars, and Madison,(all of whom are based in the Midwest), they have a two day bus ride to get there from their spring training in northern New England. In fact, the last several seasons BAC has been on that cinecast with the midwestern corps at that very first show. Enjoy the show!
