Music on the Move--Bentonille, Arkansas Tuesday, July 14 2015

My goodness, no threat of rain in the forecast. Something must be wrong there!

No kidding! It's been an incredibly rainy year for the area. Just last week we were in the news for flooding in Cassville. The past three years the weather at the show has been perfect. It's been hot, but a slight breeze. The stands have also been pretty full as well. Last year, after intermission you had to show your ticket again before being able to take your seat. I don't know what happened if you didn't still have your ticket, but as I always keep mine, it didn't effect me.

Thought I'd start this......especially since this will be the first time this season attending a live show.

Music on the Move in Bentonville.

LINEUP & TIMES

4:00 p.m. Box Office Opens

6:00 p.m. Gates Open

7:00 p.m. Show Begins

PERFORMING CORPS

Listed in reverse order of performance

Blue Devils - Concord, CA

Carolina Crown - Ft. Mill, SC

Boston Crusaders - Boston, MA

Colts - Dubuque, IA

Spirit of Atlanta - Atlanta, GA

Jersey Surf - Camden County, NJ

Pioneer - Milwaukee, WI

Legends - Kalamazoo, MI

Music City - Nashville, TN

Genesis - Austin, TX

Thoughts? Predictions?

This is the first time Blue Devils and Boston Crusaders have attended this show...at least in the past few years. Crown has always won every caption. I doubt they'll over take BD here...but one can dream.

I would hazard to guess the order of finish will be:

Blue Devils 85.55

Crown 83.9

Boston 77.25

Colts 72.3

Spirit 71.95

Surf 69.1

Pioneer 69.0

Music City 67.5

Legends 66.5

Genesis 63.5

Just out of curiosity....any idea why there are 10 corps performing this year? I mean, generally it's 'the more the merrier', but I'm bringing a couple of my young nephews to this thing and I don't think their attention spans are 3+ hours long. The years previous have had 8 corps, if I'm not mistaken. Did we need 3 open class entries?

The show does very well, so I imagine they are being rewarded with more show entries.

You can also buy a ticket an not attend every second of the contest.

I see this really as a win, not a fail.
