N.E. Brigand
Cavaliers' show reminds me of their mountaineering production from 2009: execution helps an uninteresting concept.
Tenoris4Jazz
I had to stay off the forum because of bandwidth issues (darn kids watching old Pink Panther cartoons all night) but I have to say this is the most awesome finals I've seen since my first one in '84.
N.E. Brigand
The "tap" sounds in Madison's show: unlike Academy, they're not live but merely synthesizer, right?
N.E. Brigand
Phantom Regiment doesn't have the best show but they played it to the hilt. I certainly prefer this "Clair de Lune" to their take on "Nimrod" two years ago.
mfrontz
BITD everyone would have been on the field right now. They should just let everyone walk out and get in their blocks. Olympic retreats are things of the past.
DrumManTx
Cavaliers' show reminds me of their mountaineering production from 2009: execution helps an uninteresting concept. Seem to be one of the few that really liked that show.
N.E. Brigand
Blue Knights' show in some ways reminds me of Phantom Regiment's "Into the Light". The style is completely different, but the abstract conception has some similarities.
N.E. Brigand
Who knows what the judges might think, but I thought all Corps from 12-7 here did well enough tonight to hold their placement position from yesterdays Semifinals. We agree? Or does anybody else here see a possible placement shift on this block of corps based upon what you saw and heard? As someone else pointed out, penalty aside, Crossmen and Blue Stars were tied last night. I think Stars pull just ahead. And Madison gets closer to Phantom than last night but can't catch them. All performances in the first block were solid enough. (To judge from the leaked scores, if they're accurate, this whole line of commentary is moot.)
N.E. Brigand
Another thing that BK is becoming known for are the ballads like "I'm Alive" with the original vocal track overlaid over the brass. Very effective. Whereas I'd prefer they didn't do that.
