To be honest, I liked the 2015 show better. I certainly hope they keep being entertaining, and don't try to get too high-brow. DCI needs that, IMO. Something tells me they will stick to their guns in that regard. :)

Boy they are sounding incredible. I remember being at one of the rehearsals last year and seeing the instructors begging them to give more volume but it is certainly coming easily to them this year. Where did you see the clips?

Totally agree, I hope they can change what seems like a stigma that you can't do fun and lighthearted and succeed, they've certainly proved that wrong to a certain level last year, hope that trend continues. They are a voice DCI is in short supply of, I feel like they're a Velvet Knights/Sky Ryders successor in a way. lindap
I've liked The Academy for years from video ('cause I don't get out and about much). Their polished tuxedo uniform juxtaposition, (augmented with hints of blue or red or purple) with well played musical pieces and delightful visuals always delight me. You sound good, you look good and you surprise. Keep up the good work The Academy!

It hasn't been released the direction of the new uniform, but they did retire this uniform. The corps director said so in their office update video.

lindap
Drum Corpse Bride + tuxedo (at a wedding) = success. Continued command of musical pieces + augmented drums = continued success. Guard got it right 2016 ;)

There has been far louder crowd response -- 08 Regiment when they won -- but I have never heard the sustained applause Academy got all year long. Hell, they got a huge response just entering the stadium for retreat!
