Right now men aren’t on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. the list goes on... I don't think alumni should be "above" anyone else - particularly since they are failing to financially support the organization The generous alumni - another story

And it may have just increased the talent pool for the Cavaliers. A lot of men auditioned for the Cavaliers because they were searching for that fraternal bond. Probably more then you think. DCI has not stopped an all female corps from being formed. When that day comes then we can talk about the membership of the Cavaliers. But right now no one is stopping an all female corps from happening, so there indeed is equality. Edited July 7, 2019 by GREENBLUE

This is either bold, decisive leadership or grabbing at straws and only time will tell which is the case. Madison’s health or lack of health is not due to being an all male corps, and drops in placement have not been due to it being all male. It seems to be due to infighting, lack of confidence in leadership, and poorly designed shows. I also have never heard loud cries from young women longing to be a Madison Scout, although I have heard young men say they did not choose Madison because it is all guys. Now where I do see this could be a possible good move is that it will bring new voices and a new people into the mix. This may be the lifeline needed. What Tim said. Anyone who thinks that this decision has anything to with the financial health of the organization has never managed a business or an organization. Given the times we live in, it’s clear this conversation is something that has been taking place internally for a while and most recently become a focal point for leadership. It sounds like they’ve had the right conversations internally, consulted alumni and done their due diligence. In fact, this kind of decision might have done more damage financially, a huge risk. But they felt it was the right decision moving forward, and I think they deserve kudos for having the courage to address the issue and act on it. Here’s wishing the Scouts many years of success.
